Pathania Friday inaugurated
Baisakhi festival at Mansar. The festival was organized by Directorate of
Tourism, Jammu in collaboration with Mansar- Surinsar Development Authority
(SMDA).
Speaking
on the occasion, MLA Pathania said by organizing such festivals we are not only
celebrating the festival but also transfer the tradition and the values imbibed
in us by our forefathers to our next generation. He said the festival will
provide entertainment to the visiting tourists besides
publicizing new destinations. He said the festival would now be
made annual feature for the tourists.
During the festivals, J&K Academy of Culture and
Languages, along with renowned local folk artists presented variety of
cultural items depicting rich folklore, cultural and varied beauty of the
region which mesmerized the audiences and received applause from
everyone who was present on the occasion
Earlier, MLA also inaugurated exhibition cum sale
in which stalls were put up by various departments at Mansar. The MLA inspected
each stall, evinced keen interest and suggested concerned departments to
organize such exhibition in other areas also for the welfare and knowledge of
the rural people.
The festival was attended by, Chief Executive
Officer, Mansar-Surinsar Development Authority Arvind Kotwal and other Officers
/Officials of concerned department besides a large number of prominent citizens
as well as tourists were present on the occasion.
