NEW DELHI, APRIL 10: The Special Cell for Migrants (SCM) has been
recently established in the Resident Commission, J&K Government, New Delhi
to coordinate the matters relating to migrants.
The Cell would take care of various issues
concerning the welfare of Kashmiri Pandit community like issuance of Permanent
Resident Certificate, release of salaries, pension, relief, birth certificates
etc.
The Cell will function at Resident Commissions
Office, 5-Prithvi Raj Road, New Delhi; contact numbers
for the same are 011-24611108, 24611210, (Fax) 011-24601277, 24627047.
Pertinently, the cell has started functioning
officially from April 06, 2018. The cell has been created with the efforts of
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti.
Various Kashmiri Pandit Social Associations/ Groups
have hailed the decision of Chief Minister for her personal intervention in
establishment of this Special Cell which would greatly help in mitigating the
issues of Kashmiri Pandits who have migrated to New Delhi and NCR.
