SRINAGAR, MAY 31: A 5-member
delegation of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) headed by its
President, Javid Ahmad Tenga called on the Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder
Gupta here today and discussed with him the issues related to the Kashmir
Industry.
The delegation
also submitted a memorandum of demands to the Deputy Chief Minister and urged
for addressing these at the earliest. The issues which have been highlighted in
the memorandum included representation of KCCI in the JK Trade Promotion
Organization, industrial package on the pattern of north east States, land
transfer of Zainakote Industrial Estate, further streamlining the LoC trade and
other allied issues confronted the Kashmir Industry.
The Deputy Chief
Minister, who is also Minister in-charge Industries & Commerce gave patient
hearing to the delegation and assured to examine all the highlighted issues on
priority and their appropriate disposal. He said Government is keen to promote
industrial sector in the Jammu and Kashmir which is key to the economy of the
State. He sought the cooperation from the KCCI in ensuring conducive atmosphere
in the Valley, which is must for the prosperity of this vital sector. He
referred to his recent meeting with the Prime Minster regarding the promotion
and special incentives for the industries in the State on the analogy of
north-east States. He also maintained that the Government will
maintain close coordination with the Kashmir and Jammu Chamber of Commerce
& Industries for achieving better results.
The delegation comprised, Nasir Hamid Khan, Senior Vice President, Majid
Muzaffer, Secretary General, Dr. Mubeen Shah and Abdul Hamid Punjabi.
