SRINAGAR,
MAY 23: A three-member British delegation today called on Minister
for Information Technology, Technical Education and Higher Education, Imran
Raza Ansari here today.
The
delegation comprising Richard Crossby (Head, Indian Foreign and Security Policy
Team, Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London), Alex Pykett (Head, Indian
Foreign and Security Policy Team, British High Commission in New Delhi) and Dr.
Deep Jyoti Barman (Senior Foreign Policy Adviser, British High Commission in
New Delhi).
During
an hour-long meeting, the delegation apprised the Minister about the experience
of their Kashmir visit.
“The
hospitality of Kashmir is unparalleled,” said the delegation. They also spoke
about the enchanting beauty of the Kashmir Valley. “We have seen and
experienced how one is exposed to the stunning beauty and locale of Kashmir
region,” they added.
The delegation
also discussed various initiatives taken by the British High Commission in
India. The delegation hoped that the Kashmir region would come up well on
education map and exhibit their presence in world educational sector.
On the
occasion, Ansari also discussed various initiatives undertaken by the present
government in various fields for the overall development of the State. He also
discussed initiatives and steps taken by the Government in Higher Education
Department.
