GANDERBAL, MAY 31: The District Development
Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla, today convened a meeting of
all concerned district officers to review arrangements for the smooth conduct
of Annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 2018.
The DDC directed
all the officers to strictly follow the timeline for completion of works that
have been undertaken along the Yatra route. The officers from all concerned
departments apprised the DDC about the progress of works going on for the
smooth conduct of ensuing Yatra-2018 via Baltal route.
The DDC was also
apprised that the on-spot registration of pony walas, pithoo walas, dandi walas
and other labourers will start from 1st June 2018, at Base Camp Sonamarg.
While reviewing the
arrangements, the DDC directed officials to maintain sanitation at halting
places of Yatries, besides ensuring adequate water supply through taps, and
restoration of 24x7 hour power supply and communication system along the route
to Holy cave.
It was given out
that as many as 350 Quintal Rice, 110 Quintal Atta, 90 Quintal Sugar besides
4000 ltrs K.oil, 11000 LPG cylinders and 3000 quintal firewood are being dumped
at the different location of Yatra camps.
On the occasion,
CMO Ganderbal apprised the DDC that in addition to the Medicare facilities
provided last year, 3 oxygen points will be put in place at different places en
route the Holy Cave. The DDC was also informed that 9 fire hydrates has already
been installed at Batlal and Domail.
DDC emphasised upon
the officers to hold yatra review meetings on weekly basis.
