Rajouri, July 02  :   District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today launched work on Rs. 4.78 crore project envisaging double lanning of 120 meter Abdullah bridge connecting Gujjar Mandi with old bus stand of Rajouri town.

District Development Commissioner set deadline of March 2020 for completion of the prestigious project being executed under languishing projects.

The DDC said that on completion the bridge will help towards easing traffic congestion in the town especially Gujjar Mandi area.

Udhampur, June 29  :   District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla chaired a meeting of district officers of various departments to finalize the schedule of activities for effective implementation of “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" scheme in the district.

DDC stressed on involving all stakeholders for effective implementation of the scheme. He also advocated for conducting massive awareness programmes in the District for maximum impact under the scheme. DDC asked all district officers to speak for 5 minutes on BBBP in every awareness programme.

General public was appealed to come forward and participate in save girl child campaign and inform about the person involved in sex determination and get a suitable reward up to one lakh, adding that, identity of informer will not be disclosed.

DDC appealed to all the stakeholders of the district to actively participate for the successful implementation of the scheme. He called upon the people to come forward for availing the benefits of various social security schemes and programmes.

All district officers, including BDOs, CDPOs, BMOs, MOs were present in the meeting.

Udhampur, June 27  :   District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla, today convened a meeting of executing agencies and District officers of various departments to review the status of implementation of Pollution abatement of river Devika and Tawi under National River Conservation Plan (NRCP), .

Chief planning officer Rajeev Bhushan,Assistant Commissioner Development, Neelam Khajuria, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Vikar Giri, SE UEED, Executive Engineer UEED, Jammu Taj Choudhary, other District / Sectoral Officers of different departments, engineers and contractors of executing agencies were present.

Detailed discussions were held on various issues which included status of execution of work on three STPs and 7 IHSPs and timely completion, Vetting of design by MNIT, IEC activity for sensitization and behavioural change among the masses about the sanctity of holy River Devika and Pert chart for evaluation and monitoring of the project on regular basis, Status of shifting of utilities.

DDC took extensive review of pollution abatement of Rivers Devika and Tawi project and expressed anguish over slow progress of execution work under taken by concerned agencies. He asked concerned authorities to expedite the pace of work.

Executive Engineer UEED informed the meeting that design of sewerage network is completed and vetted adding that work of Zone 1 and Zone 3 is approved and in Zone 3 work is going on.

DDC fixed targets for the month of July and asked the concerned agencies to submit daily progress report.

DDC directed the UEED to submit all the approved design to the executing agencies and ensure work is started on all components of the project. He also asked the ACD to start IEC activity around the Devika area.

DDC expressed anguish over the working of project management consultancy (PMC) and asked PMC to monitor the work on daily basis and submit report and ensure quality and design of work is intact.

DDC stressed for adherence of timeline in completion of this prestigious project.

Ramban, February 18: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today   conducted a public grievances redressal camp at Ramban to listen to the grievances and problems of people.

ACD, G. H. Kiraipak, DPO Tariq Saurawardy, Xen PHE, Bashir Ahmed, CPO, Uttam Singh, besides PRIs and large number of people  were present on the occasion.
         
 Deputations comprising Sarpanchs, Panchs and several individuals from various panchyats called on the DDC and apprised him about their grievances besides raising several developmental issues.

People from Kanga, Tanger and Parnote raised issues of restoration of water, power supply, construction of houses under PMAY-G, sanctioning of electric poles, transformers, construction of toilet complexes, inclusion of left out people  in PMAY-G beneficiaries  list, construction of link roads and land compensation etc.
   
Giving patient hearing to the deputations, the DDC redressed number of issues on the spot and directed the concerned   to resolve the public issues immediately.

The DDC directed the XEN, PHE to conduct a survey of Kanga, Tanger area for   assessment of damages and preparation of DPRs for restoring water supply schemes. He also directed the ACD to incorporate the genuine cases in the PMAY-G list.

DC calls for active participation of youth in sports activities
          BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 05: Describing sports as a vital element in the overall personality development and growth of youth, District Development commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today asked youth to actively participate in various sports activities of their choice.
          The DDC said this while addressing the concluding and prize distribution ceremony at the North Kashmir Sports Festival organized by the J&K State Sports Council at Showkat Ali Stadium Baramulla.
          Dr Naqash said that sports festivals like these provide the much-needed platform to the budding players to exhibit their potential and talent. He said such events also boost the sports passion and spirit among youth.
           Pertinently, the festival involved a series of sports activities in different categories like volleyball, hockey, kabaddi etc wherein about 1100 players participated.
          Later, a prize distribution ceremony was held during which awards including cash prizes were given to the best performing players.
          Among others, Director Planning, District and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.

          KULGAM, OCTOBER, 05: District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Dr Shamim Ahmad Wani, today chaired a public darbar at GundKilam here during which he announced a concrete flood protection bund on river beds of  Veshow nallah in convergence mode. 
          During the darbar, a number of deputations apprised the DDC about their issues. The DDC gave them a patient hearing and assured that all of their genuine projected issues will be addressed on priority.    
          Outlining the purpose of the darbar, Dr Wani highlighted the role of general public in the development sector and also termed peoples participation and co-operation as key to growth and development.
          The DDC said a flood protection bund would come at Veshow nallah which would help in averting flood threat due to the rise of water level in the nallah.
         During the meeting, Dr Wani impressed upon the officers to work sincerely for the betterment of people and stressed on timely completion of development works in the area. He also laid emphasis on the quality of developmental activities being undertaken in the whole district.
          ADC Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, ACD Hilal Ahmad, CPO Mohammad Ashraf and other district officers were also present on the occasion.

Directs timely completion of residential blocks
BUDGAM, OCTOBER 03: District Development Commissioner Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today inspected the under construction Residential Project at Sheikhpora Migrant Colony in Budgam.
On her visit to the Migrant Colony, the DDC directed the JKPCC project executing agency to speed up the work on two undergoing construction blocks and ensure both the buildings are ready to handover to the families by March- 2019.
During her inspections, the DDC was informed that six residential blocks as additional transit accommodation are being constructed for the rehabilitation of migrant Kashmiri Pandits. Each building will consist 16 flats and total cost of the project is Rs 30 crore. Four blocks have already been handed over the families and the practice of sharing flats has been done away with.
The DDC also interacted with various Pandit families and gave a patient hearing to the grievances of migrants and assured them that all their genuine issues would be addressed on priority. On spot directions were given to concerned to ensure all facilities including uninterrupted water and electricity supply to the families putting up in 200 individual quarters.
She also directed concerned departments to ensure proper drainage system and lifting of garbage regularly and its proper disposal from the Migrant Colony.
Accompanying DDC was EXEN JKPCC Budgam, EXEN PHE, AD FCSCA and other officers of various departments.

 SHOPIAN OCTOBER 02: As part of the public outreach programme, District Development Commissioner Shopian, Dr Owais Ahmed today held a Mega Grievance Redressal Camp at District headquarters wherein  people from all sections of the society gathered to put forth their grievances and demands.
On the occasion, various departments like Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Handicrafts and Handlooms, etc held an exhibition of important schemes and encouraged the people to reap the benefits from these schemes. DDC Shopian while addressing to demands of the public, ensured that there will be no delay in execution of works that are of urgent public need. He also directed the staff of government departments and JK bank, in particular, to ensure time-bound delivery of services to the public. 
People on this occasion raised issues pertaining to macadamization of roads, potable water supply, issues pertaining to solid waste disposal, functioning of KVK etc. DDC directed the concerned departments to immediately take the necessary measures to address these issues.
          Among others, the event was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shopian, Assistant Commissioner Development Shopian, Cluster Head JK Bank Shopian, District Panchayat Officer, Block Development Officers and other concerned officers.

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 25: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir here today chaired a meeting of officers of Education, Rural Development, PHE, PDD and other concerned departments here at DC Office Complex.
The meeting reviewed the progress achieved under TAD programme in the district. It was revealed that under the programme 322 different works were taken up in various schools of the district.
The meeting discussed threadbare the facilities being provided to the identified educational institutions which include drinking water, electricity and toilets.
It was given out that 90% of the target has been achieved so far under the programme, while as the rest of the works are smoothly progressing in these schools.
The DDC on the occasion stressed for achieving the 100% target within the shortest possible time frame for which he directed to speed up the pace of work. He impressed upon the officials to ensure use of quality material on the works besides resolving all the bottlenecks if any, so that all the identified schools are covered under the programme in the district.
The DDC constituted the Committee comprising of the officers of Education, Rural Development, Revenue, PHE and PDD for verification and reconciliation of the executed works. He asked officers not to leave any stone unturned to enhance aesthetics of schools.
Giving directions for providing drinking water facility to schools, he said that arrangements for groundwater should be made wherever required. He also directed for quality painting work on toilet exteriors and stressed for completion of finishing work within shortest possible time frame. The DDC impressed upon officers to resolve all issues of Mannigah area on priority and said that there should not be any kind of grievance from the people of the area.
 Among others, JD Planning, Imtiyaz Ahmad besides CEO, ZEO’s, BDOs and other concerned attended the meeting.

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 24:  District Development Commissioner Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik along with Director General Youth Services & Sports Dr Saleem-ul-Rehman inaugurated divisional level inter-district Cricket tournament here today at Government Higher Secondary School Bijbehara.
Among others present on the occasion include, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports, District Youth Services & Sports officer Anantnag, Principal Government Higher Secondary School Bijbehara.
Nine teams from different districts of the valley are participating in the said tournament starting. The inaugural match was played between Anantnag and Kupwara cricket teams at cricket ground Government Higher Secondary School Bijbehara.
On the occasion, the DDC Anantnag said that the youth including both boys and girls have tremendous sports talent and there is a dire need to harness it.
He said that 300 youth from different parts of the district have volunteered themselves as sports volunteers for the uplift of the sports activities in the district and all the possible facilities will be provided to them.  He also said the high-class sports infrastructure will be developed in the district and Sports Stadium at Mehandi Kadal Anantnag will be provided with day-night facilities so that sports activities will get a boost in the district.
On the occasion, Director General Youth Services & Sports said that sports and games play a vital role in the overall development of students. He further said that youth Hostels will be constructed in all the districts in near future for the development of the sports culture in the state.

PULWAMA, SEPTEMBER 24: District Development Commissioner Pulwama, GM Dar today inaugurated a medical assessment cum measurement camp   for specially-abled children at Central Boys High School Pulwama.
The camp was organised under Samagra Shiksha scheme by Education Department in Collaboration with Health Department.
Around 200 specially-challenged children from different schools were assessed in the Camp.
 Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the aim of assessment camp is to provide differently-abled children with specific needs like hearing aid, wheel chairs, and artificial limbs.
DDC urged upon parents to admit their specially-abled children in schools which would help in their mainstreaming and would pave a path towards inclusive development.
Earlier, DDC also inaugurated measles and rubella vaccination campaign organised by Health Department which was recently introduced nationwide in schools and outreach sessions for Measles elimination and Rubella control. The campaign will cover all children in the age group of 9 months to 18 years in the district to protect from Measles and Rubella virus.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner called upon all the line departments, educational institutions, besides other stakeholders and organizations to extend their full cooperation and support within their respective areas to ensure successful conduct for MR Immunization campaign. 
Chief Education Officer, Dy. Chief Medical officer Pulwama, Headmaster Central Boys High School and other concerned officials were present on the occasion.

        NOWSHERA SEPTEMBER 18: To spread awareness among electorates ahead of urban local body polls, a rally under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme was organised here today.
The rally was flagged off by ADC Sachin Dev Singh from tehsil office complex in which over 200 students participated.
The rally was organised as a part of comprehensive District SVEEP Plan formulated under the guidance of District Election Officer Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad (DDC). The students in the rally carried banners, posters, placards and pamphlets highlighting the importance of voting.
While addressing the gathering, the ADC Nowshera exhorted upon the students to act as ambassadors and disseminate the message of importance of electoral participation for stronger and participative democracy. Stressing on the enrolment in the electoral roll of all those who have attained the age of 18 years, he said that this could help them in bringing out the desired changes required for the development of their area.
Tehsildar Nowshera highlighted the importance of elections and voting in democracy and appealed to the participants to register themselves in electoral rolls and cast their valuable vote in the elections. 
Deputy Chief Education Officer, Range Officer, EO Municipality, SHO also accompanied the rally.

BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 14:  District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ sanitation campaign being launched nationwide on September 15, 2018.
The DDC was informed that during the fortnight campaign, cleanliness programmes, awareness generation regarding Swachhta, drawing and painting competitions shall be organized to highlight the need for cleanliness in collaboration with higher education/school education departments and SHGs of UMEED.
Under the campaign, BDOs of the district shall also function as chief organizers in their respective blocks.
The said campaign shall be conducted at district, block and panchayat levels simultaneously and shall culminate on October 2 coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti.
A major focus of the campaign shall be on cleaning of water bodies, parks, roads, schools, hospitals and colleges.
The DDC instructed all officers that the focus should be given to mobilizing locals through community participation in the cleanliness drives, besides generating mass awareness through media.
She also directed all BDOs to identify landfill sites for the garbage disposal in all villages of the district.
Similarly, Principal GDCs, ZEOs and Principals HSSs were also directed to emphasize on the issue of cleanliness during the morning assemblies and organize ‘Run for Cleanliness’, to instil awareness among the students and the general public on cleanliness.
The meeting was attended by SDMs, DPO Budgam, Principals of GDCs, BDOs, ZEOs, Principals of HSSs and other concerned.

Reviews implementation of sports scheme
SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 13: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Samba, Sushma Chauhan today chaired a meeting of District Level Committee to review the implementation of Khelo-India Scheme and took stock of the preparedness for execution of sports competition scheduled to be held all over the district from September 20,2018 under the flagship scheme
The DDC sought a detailed status report on preparedness of venues, opening ceremony and other logistics required for holding sports event in the district under Khelo- India.
The DDC entrusted upon the concerned officers for ensuring maximum participation of youth, especially from the rural areas, in the sports activities under Khelo- India to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship all over the district during one-month long event. She further asked them to motivate the participants for endeavouring to registration for the Khelo- India games.
The DDC instructed the committees constituted for purchase of equipment, refreshment and sports kits to ensure the availability of necessary stock during the sports event.
The meeting was attended by the ADDC Samba, Pankaj Magotra, CEO Samba, DYSSO Samba, Army and CRPF Officers besides other officers of concerned departments.

BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 13: District Development Commissioner Budgam, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar visited the Spring Buds Educational institute, Ompora and presided over the Seminar titled 'Drug De-addiction cum anti-Corruption' programme.
At the outset, the DDC interacted with various students about both topics.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC pointed about the causes of the drug abuse like peer pressure, psychological causes etc. While quoting the Holy Quran, the DDC reiterated that it is prohibited in Islam and other religions as well to consume drugs and indulge in smoking and substance abuse.
While speaking on the topic ‘corruption’ the DDC highlighted the responsibility of family and educational institutions to inculcate values of honesty and integrity so that menace of corruption can be curbed. 
She also exhorted the students to be shining examples of the Notion “Means justify the End, not in the notion of End justifies the Means" and said that corruption being a two-way process, both the stakeholders are made aware of the menace and educational institutions have a huge responsibility in eradicating this menace.

BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 13: District Development Commissioner Budgam, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today inspected works of Rural Development constructed under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).
The DDC was informed under the Mission all the blocks of the district are ODF in the baseline surveys.
The DDC was satisfied with the works executed by the department. The DDC gave directions to the concerned officers to make concerted efforts to cover all left out households under SBM.
The DDC also interacted with the household heads and enquired about the effectiveness and benefits of the mission.
During the inspection, various local deputations met the DDC and raised their demands particularly issues regarding RDD and PDD, the DDC gave them a patient hearing and directed concerned district heads to ensure redressal to their genuine grievances promptly.

RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 07: To promote sports culture amongst the youth, a tournament was today inaugurated here at Gool under Khelo India “Sports for Peace and Development" an integrated youth engagement programme of Government of India.
District Development Commissioner (DDC), Showkat Aijaz Bhat declared the event open which witnessed     Under 17 Boys Volleyball and under 14 Girls Kho Kho competitions at the local Government Higher Secondary School (GHHS) Gool.
Also present were SSP Ramban Anita Sharma, ACR Vevaik Puri, SDM Gool Pankaj Bagotra, CEO, A.H Fani, DYSSO, Sukhdev Raj Sharma, ALC Ramban Rakesh Arora, Tehsildar Gool, Principal of the host school.   
In Volley ball match Gool A team won by defeating Gool B team, while in Kho Kho competition Girls High School Gool team won by defeating Girls Higher secondary team by 4 points.
Earlier, addressing the participants, the DDC applauded the students for their efforts and encouraged them to make the best use of such platform to display their sports talent. He laid emphasis on the importance of games and sports for their overall development. He advised the youth to take active part in the sports and create a niche at State and national levels.
He said that the Khelo India scheme has been launched with the objective to channelize the energy of the youth in right direction, imbibe in them leadership qualities and team spirit so that they can contribute in economic and social development of the country.
He assured the participants that district administration will arrange resources for creating better sports facilities in the schools. He   announced to provide table tennis for GHHS Gool.

UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 06: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar today initiated Maha Shram Daan at Basantgarh Block in Udhampur District.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the Maha ShramDaan   aims to involve all stakeholders to contribute voluntary labour for completion of toilets under SBM Gramin and making district ODF. The three-day long program will target all left out households that have not completed their IHHL units, he added.
Udhampur district have constructed 74587 toilets and coverage is 98% and remaining 1000 toilets are to be completed through this innovative idea, the DDC informed, adding that, the district administration has constituted internal ODF verification teams comprising of officials from department other than RDD, which have been directed to verify the ground reality of the IHHL units constructed in respect of all the panchayats of district Udhampur.

PULWAMA, SEPTEMBER 05: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar today chaired a meeting of officers regarding conducting of District level sports competitions under “Peace and Development” for the year 2018-19.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Tral and Awantipora, District Youth Services and SportsOfficer Pulwama, District Youth Coordinator NYK, Dy Sp, Pulwama, Awantipora and other concerned officials.
On the Occasion, District Sports Officer briefly informed the meeting about the format of Programme, procurements of equipment ’s and requirement of funds for the organizing of sports events in the district. It was said that District level competition will be kick-started at DPL Pulwama and DPL Awantipora.
Speaking on the Occasion, DDC said that Govt has launched various programmes including sports competitions under “Peace and Development” for the youth to provide an opportunity for the development of their personality and skills. He said sports instill confidence, promote camaraderie and team spirit and improve physical stamina of the youth. He stressed upon officers to work with zeal and zest and bring this programme successfully to the conclusion.  He further said that more youth should be involved in sports activities for exposure to create a name in sports.

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 05: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today morning flagged off a group of 50 students representing all blocks of the district including Gurez,Tulial, Hajin and Sumbal for a Bharat Darshan Tour.
SSP Bandipora Shiekh Zulfkar Azad, and Officers of Education and YSS were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the students to take full advantage of the tour and make utmost efforts to share their experiences with the fellow students. He also exhorted upon them to be sincere with their studies and make better career for themselves.
SSP while addressing the students said that all boarding, lodging, to and fro air ticket and other logistic facilities are being provided by Jammu & Kashmir Police to facilitate students to visit various places in Delhi and Agra. He said the tour will be of five days.
All the 50 Students were provided special uniform track suites and capes before boarding the police bus for the tour. The students’ group is headed/escorted by DSP DAR Abdul Rashid Khan.
