JAMMU, MAY 25: Government SPMR
College of Commerce, Jammu today taken up Swachh Bharat Summer
Internship Programme-2018 under the flagship Programme of
Union Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) at
Government Higher Secondary School, Phalayan Mandal.
As per the
programme, the college will conduct 100 hours activity on Open Defecation,
Women Sanitation, cleanliness of surroundings and waste management in Phalayan
Mandal village of Jammu district.
During the 17-day
programme, the students and people of the area would be sensitized by
conducting information-education- communication activities and make aware about
the problems being faced due to Open Defection and the steps to be taken for
its prevention. Awareness about women sanitation and the precautions to be
taken thereof, besides importance of cleanliness in surroundings and measures
to dispose-of dry waste and wet waste would also be made. A group of
students and locals would also be selected as volunteers to spread the awareness
among their peers and surroundings.
Wishing the team for the best, the Principal Dr P K Sharma urged for
putting their efforts for the betterment of the society. He asked
the team for involving more and more students and youth of the areas, saying
that they can play ambassador role in this regards.
