Secretary Tourism reviews facilities at Sonamarg

GANDERBAL, MAY 28: Secretary Tourism Department, Rigzian Sampheal today conducted a tour of Sonamarg wherein he reviewed various facilities put in place for tourists and locals.

 The Secretary visited Zero Point and Baltal Base camp to inquire about the ground facilities. The Chief Executive Officer SDA apprised the Secretary about the facilities being provided by the SDA to Amarnath Yatries which include sanitation from Ranga mode to Baltal base camp and establishment of toilets and shelter sheds for yatries.

During the visit, he also interacted with tourists and enquired about their journey in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Secretary had a meeting with hotelier association, shopkeepers’ association, Transport association and other stakeholders wherein he urged them to work in a cooperative mode with the department for the promotion of tourism in Sonamarg.
