UDHAMPUR, MAY-28: A Special squad
today conducted market checking in different areas here at tehsil
Majalta and charged Rs 2800 fine from erring traders.
The inspection
team led by Tehsildar with Block Development Officer, Station House Office and
Tehsil Supply Officer as its part conducted market inspection to keep check on
quality of edibles, overcharging and unfair trade during the Ramzan
month. The team checked hygiene levels of shops and
commodities being sold at various establishment.
Around 32
establishments were checked by the team in Manwal and Battal of which 15 of
were fined for violation of various norms.
To keep a check
on extra charging from the customers, the checking team also checked rate list
of various food items during the surprise visit. The team advised
the shopkeepers to maintain cleanness in and around their shops and be
affairmed with the laws of essential commodities and food safety and
standard acts.
