Chief of Naval Staff likely to visit Tripureswari Temple

 Udaipur(Tripura), May 15 :  Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lamba is likely to visit Tripureswari Temple in Udaipur of Tripura's Gomati District today.
A senior official of Gomati disrict Police administration informed that the security arrangement has been beefed up in the temple and preparations are all set to receive the Naval Chief.
Admiral Sunil Lanba assumed Command of the Indian Navy as the 23rd Chief of the Naval Staff on
May 31,2016.
Tripureswari Temple, also known as Tripura Sundari Temple and situated in Udaipur, about 55 km from Agartala, is believed to be one of the holiest Hindu shrines in this part of the country. Popularly known as Matabari, crowns a small hillock and is served by red-robed priests who traditionally
ministers the mother goddess Tripura Sundari.
Considered as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, it consists of a square type sanctum of the typical Bengali hut. It is believed that Sati's right foot fell here during Lord Shiva's dance.UNI
