New Delhi, May 14 :  Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday attacked the Narendra Modi-led NDA government over the rise in fuel prices in the country close on the heels of the Karnataka elections concluding.
Mr Gandhi said soon after the Karnataka election got over, the fuel prices touched a new high in four years and "fooling people" was the "key principle of Modinomics".
The Congress leader tweeted, "Karnataka finishes voting, FUEL prices rise to a 4 yr. high!
The Key Principle of Modinomics: fool as many people as you can, as often as you can".
The public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) have hiked the prices of petrol and diesel on Monday by 17 and 23 paise respectively. The hike has been made after a gap of 19 days.
On Monday, petrol was selling at Rs 74.80 per litre in Delhi, Rs 77.50 per litre in Kolkata, Rs 82.65 per litre in Mumbai and Rs 77.61 per litre in Chennai. Diesel prices were at Rs 66.14 per litre, Rs. 68.68 per litre, Rs 70.43 per litre and Rs 69.79 per litre respectively in the four metro cities.UNI
