Bengaluru, May 18: Mr K G Boppaiah took oath as Pro-tem Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Friday and he will preside over the House during the confidence vote of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa tomorrow.
Governor Vajubhai Vala administered the Oath of office and Secrecy to Mr Boppaiaih in the Raj Bhavan.
Mr Boppaiah, who had been the Speaker in 2008, will administer Oath to the newly elected members of the 15th Karnataka Assembly on Saturday and will hold the post till the new Speaker is elected by the house.
The Supreme Court today, in its direction on a petition by the Congress, had said that the Pro-tem speaker shall conduct the floor test at 4 pm tomorrow to ascertain the majority of the BJP headed by Mr Yeddyurappa. UNI
