Lucknow, May 18: Lieutenant General Jagdeep Kumar Sharma, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Central Command , Lucknow,exhorted the youth to rise up to the challenges by overcoming social barriers, individualism and imbibing discipline which will restore the Nation to its past glory when it was commonly referred to as ‘Sone ki Chidiya’.
He gave the shining example of Indian Army which could be emulated by the society, where everyone without any allegiance to religion, caste or creed strives for the well being of the Nation. He also mentioned that for the sake of Nation, people should first fulfill their fundamental duties before demanding fundamental rights.
Lt. Gen. Sharma was speaking on ‘Role of Youth in Nation Building’ at the Lucknow University here on Friday. The talk was orgainsed by VIMARSH, Vivekananda Kendra, Lucknow which is dedicated to motivate the youth for building a strong India.
The event was attended by Professor SP Singh, Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow, Major General AK Chaturvedi (Retired), Coordinator, Vivekananda Kendra VIMARSH Organising Committee, University academia and students.
Professor SP Singh, Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow later felicitated and thanked Lieutenant General Jagdeep Kumar Sharma for sharing his valuable thoughts and delivering an outstanding and an inspirational lecture. UNI
