RAJOURI, MAY 09: The authorities today finalized the Traffic
Management plan and reviewed the infrastructure requirement for smooth
management of traffic in this border town and peripheral areas.
The plan was finalized in a meeting of officers
held here today chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and
attended by SSP Yougal Manhas, ADC Sher Singh, SP Traffic Mushtaq Choudhary, SE
PWD Majid Khan, ExEN PWD Mushtaq Raina,
CO BRO Prakash Varshney, DPO Dr Abdul Khabir, ARTO Neeraj Kumar, officials from
Municipal Committee, Education Department, MVD inspectors and DTIs.
It was decide to initiate installation of 1500
delineators procured for installation on Salani-Panja Chow-ITI Chowk, Gujjar
Mandi, ALG-Kheora-Darhali, Jawahar Nagar and other vital stretches of roads to
regulate one- way traffic.
It was further decided to issue notification for
identifying No-Parking Zones and completion of yellow line. Any vehicle found
parked in No-Parking Zone and beyond the yellow line of parking will be lifted
by the recovery van. An amount of Rs 500/- was fixed as charges for expenses
incurred on lifting of illegally parked vehicles. The meeting decided to
initiate concerted drive for removal of encroachments from Right-of-Way along
these vital roads and subsequent widening or decongestion of traffic.
Parking of vehicles will be allowed at New Bus
Stand, behind PHE complex, old DIET Complex, Irrigation complex, Cooperative
complex for Salani-Jawahar Nagar area and at DIET complex, Public Parking
Kheora for ALG-Darhali stretch.
In view of new parking slots being constructed, the
meeting decided to seek the cooperation of general public
in this regard. Parking line has also been marked on Dakbungalow road.
Meanwhile, construction work on widening of Gujjar Mandi road has been allotted
and will be completed in 2 month along
with parking space.
It was further decided that no bus/mini-bus/tempo
service will originate from any location other than notified by RTA. Permits of
commercial vehicles and licenses of drivers will be cancelled in case of
default. Detailed arrangements were discussed for initiating the drive to
ensure smooth traffic management and stringent action against traffic
violators.
BRO was asked for completion of RCC pavement on
Drahali bridge site and patch work on Thanamandi road by 31st
May while PWD will initiate upgradation of roads in
city and peripheral areas.
