Various delegations
from across Kashmir call on Minister
SRINAGAR, JUNE 02: Minister for
Finance, Labour and Employment, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukharion
Saturday held a Public Darbar in Srinagar as part of his weekly Public
Outreach programme.
A large number of
people including prominent citizens and youths participated in the darbar and
interacted with the minister. They apprised the Minister about their problems
and developmental needs and sought redressal of their grievances.
Delegations from
across the valley especially from Srinagar city including Dalgate, Bemina,
Natipora, Nishat, Chanpora, Nowgam, Sanat Nagar, Rawalpora, Hyderpora,
Bagh-e-Mehtab, Baramulla, Sumbal, Pulwama, Tral and Bandipora flagged many
issues before the minister with regard to repairmen of roads, availability of
drinking water, regular electricity, availability of ration and many other
issues of public interest. A delegation of RTO consultants and staff members of
Gandhi College Srinagar also called on the minister and flagged various
issues.
Minister gave
patient hearing to the people and assured that their genuine demands will be
redressed. Minister also passed on-spot directions with regard to various
grievances flagged by the locals. The minister also made on-spot directions for
providing electric poles , transmission lines for various
areas of the city.
Bukhari said they
have prioritized the works according to their importance and are being done
accordingly. Interacting with the deputations, the Minister said that state
government is working tirelessly for equitable development in all the three
regions of the state.
He said the present
dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir has tagged public welfare and equitable
development as thrust areas and it will continue with its policy of reaching
out to the people in order to mitigate their sufferings on account of various
day to day issues.
Responding to the
demands raised by deputations, the Minister assured them that he would take up
the issues with the concerned Departments for their early redressal. He said
that the Government is committed to equitable development in the rural and
urban areas of the state. “To meet the goal, several schemes and programs have
already been undertaken under R&B, PDD, PHE, Health, RDD and other sectors”
he said and urged the people to take full advantage of various state and
centrally sponsored schemes.
Bukhari said the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is keen to mitigate the problems
of the people and that the aim of public outreach program is to reach out to
the people to listen their grievances at their doorstep instead of people
coming to Civil Secretariat, we (ministers) have been asked to visit the people
at their doorstep to know their problems and take appropriate action to
mitigate their problems.
