Consultative Committee meeting of Councilors held in Leh

LEH, JUNE 2: Under the chairmanship of Executive Councilor for Health Gyal P Wangyal, the first quarterly meeting of Consultative Committee of Councilors of LAHDC, Leh who are assigned to review and give feedback on the functioning of all the departments under the portfolio of EC Heath was held today in the meeting hall of Council Secretariat.

The meeting had a detailed discussion on the issues related to health sector like engagement of Community Health Workers for different health centers in the district, filling up of the vacant posts of doctors including dental doctors, overload of patients at SNM Hospital, strengthening of ICU Ward and upcoming Dialysis Ward of SNM Hospital with additional paramedic staff, procurement of one more Compressor for Oxygen Plant of SNM Hospital and automatic power backup for SNM Hospital and coverage of health insurance under Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Swasthya Suraksha Mission in the district were thoroughly discussed to address them.

Responding to the queries of Councillors regarding absentee medical staff members I/C CMO, Leh said that each and every staff member is bound to attend their duties on a regular basis. He assured to take stringent action against such health workers in case they found violating the service conduct rule in future.

While discussing the power related issues in the district, Councilor Skurbuchan and Khaltsi strongly criticized NHPC for not completing the transmission lines and feeders under RGGVY since 2010 in the Shaam region due to which entire Shaam region is getting electricity from a single Feeder causing huge problems during electric faults in the entire district.

EC Gyal Wangyal, EC Sandup and Councilor took many other issues related with power in the district with SE PDD, Ex-en PDD and Engineer NHPC (Alchi) and sought their intervention in solving the problems in the shortest possible time. EC Wangyal directed engineers of PDD and NHPC to ensure smooth power supply during holy Ramadan month and urged them to ensure utmost coordination in giving uninterrupted power supply in the district.

Later, the functioning of Industrial Estate Leh, Phyang, Nubra and Khaltsi, ICDS, Forest was also discussed at length.

EC Gyal Wangyal urged upon all the officers to pace up the work considering the limited working period and stressed on completing the projects well in time and directed them to review and follow-up the ongoing projects with concerned executing agencies time to time.

On behalf of member Councilors of Nubra region, Executive Councilor for Tourism Tsering Sandup and other members of the committee Councilor Skurbuchan Punchok Stanzin, Councilor Igoo Tsering Paldan and Councilor Khaltsi Lobzang Sherab attended the meeting. SE PDD, DFO, PO ICDS, CMO, GM DIC, Engineer NHPC (Alchi), Ex-en PDD, District YS&S Officer and GM SICOP and Headquarter Assistant DC Office Leh also attended the meeting.
