RAJOURI, JUNE 20: District
Development Commissioner, Rajouri Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary felicitated four
outshining students, two boys and two girls of a family, who have persistently
shown outstanding and exceptional performance in academics.
Pertinently Dr
Shahid came across these brilliant students during his tour to Thanamandi
Subdivision yesterday.
Impressed by
their exceptional performances in academics, he decided to felicitate them so
as to encourage them to carry out their studies with added zeal. Dr Shahid
immediately sanctioned monetary assistance of Rs 18,000 for educational
expenses of these students.
Congratulating
the students, the Deputy Commissioner said that their success was the result of
the hard work and dedication, adding that, they have excelled in studies
because they have burned the midnight oil for this purpose. He also
complimented the parents for ensuring that their wards get quality education
despite of resource constraints. He urged them to continue this hard
work and strive hard for excellence in future.
Dr Shahid has
been consistently working to improve education sector in the district. He
personally interacts with students during his field visits and motivate them to
prefer education over ignorance.
Establishment of separate libraries for boys and girls with advanced
facilities, career counselling centres and formulation of an Advisory Committee
on education are some of the unique steps taken by the administration for
visible improvements in education sector.
