13: In a message issued by Raj Bhavan, Governor N.N.
Vohra has observed that the World Blood Donor Day is celebrated worldwide,
on 14th June every year, for raising public awareness about the high
importance of healthy persons voluntarily making blood donations.
The celebration
of World Blood Donor Day provides a valuable opportunity for re-invigorating
the noble practice of blood donations and to also thank the donors whose
contributions enable precious human lives being saved by doctors.
Emphasising the
vital importance of voluntary blood donations, Governor noted that well run
Blood Banks help in saving millions of lives every year and appealed to every
healthy adult to come forward and voluntarily donate blood, on a regular basis.
