Social Audit under MGNREGA conducted in Leh

LEH, JUNE 14: Social Audit under MGNREGA of Halqa Panchayat Chumathang, and Nyoma was conducted today in the Gram Sabha at respective Panchayat Ghars.

Number of employment provided, job cards issued, works taken up and expenditures incurred during 2017-18 under MGNREGA in both the Halqa Panchayats were discussed in the Gram Sabha and socially audited. No serious complaint was reported during the Social Audit. On the occasion District Social Audit Coordinator explained the concept of Social Audit.

All stakeholders participated in the Social Audit and Sh. Tsering Mutup, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Nyoma was the Chief Observer who witnessed procedures and findings of the Social Audit.

Secretaries of respective Panchayats instructed the village representatives as well as participants to stress on more participatory, transparent and accountability while planning and implementation of Rural Development Programs at grass root level.
