SRINAGAR, JULY 13: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar
visited Mazar-e-Shohada at Naqashband Sahib (RA) here today to offer floral
tributes to the 1931 Martyrs. He laid wreaths over the graves of the Martyrs.
Chief
Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam; Director General of Police, Dr S P Vaid;
Divisional Commission Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan; IGP Kashmir, S P Pani, Deputy
Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah and other senior officers were
also present on the occasion.
A contingent
of J&K Police posted the bugle and presented the ceremonial guard of honour
to the Martyrs.
Later, a local
delegation met the Advisor and Chief Secretary and apprised them about the
various issues being faced by them. The Advisor gave them a patient
hearing and assured them that all their genuine demands will be looked into on
priority.
On the occasion, the Advisor said that the government
is committed to restore the pristine glory of NaqashbandSahabShrine and the
adjacent historical mosque. He said the Shrine will be preserved keeping in
mind its historical significance.
