Our aim is to make skill training institutions as
centres of excellence: JKSDM
SRINAGAR, JULY 14: First ever,
consultative meeting of prospective training providers under Pradhan Mantri
Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) scheme was held today here at Srinagar.
The meeting was held with the aim to provide
prospective training providers with an in-depth understanding of the process
required for registration with the training authorizing departments like
J&K Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) and National Skill Development
Corporation and to understand the issues faced by the training providers in
completing the registration formalities.
The meeting was organized by JKSDM in which around 70
skill training institutions took part.
“J&K Skill Development Mission has done pretty
well in terms of registering training providers and for the current year, the
state has the best status in terms of registration of training providers across
the country, said, ArkaNandy, NSDC representative.
A power point presentation was made to clarify some of
the queries raised by the prospective training providers pertaining to the
PMKVY scheme.
The training providers were also apprised about the
current process of the PMKVY training. The deadline of 20th July 2018 has
been kept for the training providers to complete all the registration
formalities.
“Our aim is to develop the core competencies of
the skill training institutions and establish such institutions as centres of
excellence which will contribute in the overall development of the youth of
J&K”, said JKSDM official.
Discussions were also held on how to provide quality skilling and
employment opportunities to the youth. It is pertinent to mention that the
state of J&K has established J&K Skill Development Mission to provide
placement linked skill training under PMKVY (State Component) to the youth.
