KUPWARA, JULY 11:
District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today conducted an
extensive tour of various areas of Handwara to get the first-hand appraisal of
ongoing developmental works being executed by various agencies.
During
the visit, DDC also paid a surprise visit to many government offices to check
the punctuality of employees.
ADC
Handwara, Muzaffar Ahmad Peer, Executive Engineer PMGSY, field functionaries
and other concerned accompanied the DDC.
During
the visit, DDC visited PHC Natnussa and PHC Vilgam to inspect the facilities
available there and exhorted the employees to ensure punctuality and better
medicare to patients.
“Health
sector is one of the indicators under Transformation of Aspirational District
Programme and Primary Health Centres have a primary role to help better this
indicator at the grassroots level,” DDC said.
He
also visited HSS Batapora Magam and interacted with the staff and students
there. The DDC impressed upon the school management to include co-curricular
activities as a part of syllabus towards better physical and mental development
of students and for infusing the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship among
them.
Later,
DDC inspected the proposed site for the newly established Government Degree
College Villagam. He directed the concerned to expedite the pace of work for
the on-time completion of the project so that students from the area are able
to avail better education facilities.
The
DDC also inspected the Manzgam Road being constructed by PMGSY. He issued
directions for its completion within stipulated time for facilitating better
road connectivity to the people.
During
the visit, various public deputations also met the DDC and projected their
demands and grievances before him. The DDC assured the deputations that all of
their genuine demands would be looked into.
Meanwhile, DDC directed all HODs and employees
in the district to ensure punctuality for efficiency, transparency and better
delivery of services.
