JAMMU, JULY 06: About
7000 different species of plants ranging from Mango, Blackberry, Guava, bamboo,
Alma and others shall be planted in Jammu Tawi Golf
course during this monsoon to improve the green cover of the
beautiful 18-hole golf course.
This was
given out by Secretary JTGC who further said that the
plantation drive has been initiated with successful plantation of 500 saplings.
Secretary
further apprised that under social forestry, JTGC has decided to carry out a
plantation drive this year also as in the previous year, they have successfully
managed to plant 5000 plants and similar initiatives will continue in the
future.
Pertinent
to mention that Jammu Tawi Golf Course,Sidhra houses various species of Plants
and trees all adding upto to approximately 90,000 ranging from
Jacaranda, Acacia, Silver-oak, Casuarina, Cyprus, Teconia, Pine, bauhinia,
bottle-brush, Guava.
