DC Kargil calls for
coordinated efforts, timely measures
KARGIL, JULY 6: Deputy
Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the
District Task Force Committee for Routine Immunization (DTFI) for Measles
Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign to be held in the month of September and
October 2018 in the district.
Chief Medical
Officer, Programme Officer ICDS, Chief Education Officer, District Social
Welfare Officer, representatives of educational institutions and other
concerned officers attended the meeting.
During the course
of the meeting issues with regard to planning, reporting, communication,
elimination strategies and other key aspects of the MR vaccination campaign in
the district were discussed threadbare.
The Deputy
Commissioner who is also the Chairman, District Task Force for MR Immunization
called upon all the line departments, educational institutions besides other
stakeholders and organizations to extend their full cooperation and support
within their respective areas to ensure successful conduct of the campaign.
The Chief Medical
Officer informed the meeting that in order to ensure proper implementation of
the vaccination campaign, the district level trainers have already received
training at the State level while as the trainers in various blocks are being
imparted training shortly by state and national level trainers who are visiting
the district in near future.
While underlining
the importance of acquiring complete knowledge about Measles-Rubella, its
disease profile, disease definition, geographical distribution of measles,
preventive measures and technical knowledge on how to inject Measles-Rubella
vaccine, the DC stressed upon the concerned to put in place all required and
timely measures in this regard.
The DC also
instructed the officers of Education and ICDS to furnish the list of students
to the Health Department well in advance so that no children are left without
vaccination. He also stressed upon the timely training of required personnel to
ensure hassle-free conduct of the vaccination campaign.
Meanwhile, the DC also enquired about the arrangements to be put in
place pertaining to the draft micro planning, mobilization and promotional
activities and mega-camp in connection with the celebration of World Population
Fortnight from 11th to 25th July 2018 and National De-worming Day (NDD)
on 10th August 2018 in the district.
