KULGAM, AUGUST 11: Arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram
were reviewed today in a meeting convened by the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr
Shameem Ahmad Wani.
Among others, the
meeting was also attended by senior officers of the district administration and
representatives of prominent Shia Anjumans and President Auqaf Committee
Kulgam.
During the
meeting, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the pro-activeness of CMO Kulgam
who had already furnished the action plan with regard to the arrangements to be
made for Muharram.
Similarly, the
PDD authorities were directed to ensure high mast lights/ halogen bulbs and
LEDs are installed at all the important places and ensure generator sets are
installed at identified locations.
The PHE
authorities were directed to ensure that water tankers are deployed at
identified locations, while as R&B authorities were directed to ensure that
the roads where from the Muharram procession would be taken out are repaired at
the earliest.
The FCS&CA
Department was directed to ensure adequate supply and prompt distribution of
ration, sugar, k-oil and LPG. Regarding firewood, the SFC authorities were
directed to dump the required quantity of firewood at already identified
locations as per past practice in the district.
Similarly, the
Municipal authorities were directed to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness
measures at all the religious places. Fire and Emergency Authorities were
directed to remain prepared to deal with any eventuality.
The ARTO was directed to ensure special transport facilities till the
conclusion of the procession on the day of Aashura.
