REASI, AUGUST 30: Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Ramaswamy G today called for massive youth mobilization under Khelo India campaign.
 Chairing a meeting, he sought inputs from expert sportspersons regarding enlisting of talented youth from every corner of the district.
 He said the potential talent will be further trained under the centrally sponsored Khelo India scheme.
In the meeting, a tentative list of sports was also prepared under which the talent would be spotted. The list includes Athletics, Wrestling, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Football among other sports.
A detailed discussion was held on spreading awareness about the talent spotting activities to be held at various block levels in the district. The DC emphasized on use of both traditional as well as latest modes of information dissemination to reach out the masses.
Those present at the meeting included Commandant Ravi Kala from CRPF, Asstt. Commandant Birbal Mahey from CISF, ACD Reasi, MY Malik, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Dr SS Chib and others.
The Khelo India programme has been introduced by the central government to revive sports culture   at the grass-roots level.
Under the initiative, Rs 40 lakh has been sanctioned for the district, with each tehsil- Reasi, Pouni, Mahore and Arnas, getting an equal share of Rs 10 lakhs each.
