02: District Development Commissioner, Kulgam Dr Shameem Ahmad Wani
today conducted an extensive tour of the district to take stock of works
on various ongoing projects.
ADDC, CPO,
Executive Engineers of R&B and Irrigation and Flood Control and other
officers accompanied the DDC.
During his visit
to Polytechnic College Kulgam, DDC inspected college building being
constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 13 crore. He also visited various
sections of college and exhorted upon the executing agencies to accelerate
pace of work.
DDC later visited
Adigatnoo- Chambagund diversion which was washed away by Floods on June 29 and
was thrown open for traffic movement today. DDC directed Flood and Control
Department to restore the damaged bunds on river beds of Veshow nallah on
priority basis to avoid any eventuality.
DDC also visited
Kutabal flood protection bund which has been constructed by locals by
financial assistance from RDD and local funds.
DDC also directed
the Geology and Mining Department to take appropriate steps to clean the sites
near the Chambagund bridge and submit a proposal to allow extraction of sand
and bajri for the safety of bridge.
Later DDC visited Zangalpora village which suffered a heavy loss during
Floods of 2014. Residents apprised DDC about the issues they are facing. He
gave them a patient hearing and assured all possible help to them and redressal
of issues at an earliest.
