KUPWARA,
AUGUST 27: District Development Commissioner (DDC)
Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir along with a team of officers today visited Handwara
sub-division to review the progress of various ongoing developmental works
there.
The
DDC inspected the on-going works of Additional Block of District Hospital
Handwara being constructed for mother and child health care in the hospital
premises. The DDC directed the concerned executing agency to speed up the pace
of work on the additional block and ensure its completion within the stipulated
period.
He
also instructed the Medical Superintendent to make efforts towards improving
patient care services at the hospital. Exen
R&B Handwara was asked to submit a revised estimate of District Early
Intervention Centre.
On
the occasion, the DDC inspected various other works in the hospital during
which he interacted with patients and doctors to know about the facilities
being provided to the patients.
Later, DDC also inspected the ongoing work of Sheep Hatchery unit at Tutigund Handwara and instructed the concerned agency to ensure completion within the given time frame so that it could be dedicated to the people on time.

The
DDC also visited Langate and inspected various road projects, water supply
schemes and other developmental works. On the occasion, various public
deputations also met the DDC and projected various issues being confronted by
them. The DDC assured them that all of their genuine issues would be addressed
at an earliest.
He
directed officers to make field visits to on-going projects and ensure their
timely execution so that benefits accrue to the people without any delay.
Earlier,
the DDC visited Guloora and inspected the ongoing works including the
widening of roads under CRF Scheme by PMGSY. He also visited Government High
School Guloora and interacted with the students and staff there.
He
also reviewed the functioning of ISM Centre DooliporaVilgam where the staff
apprised him of various issues including the need for connection with the grid.
He directed the concerned to provide electricity to the ISM Centre without any
delay. He further directed the Exen R&B to submit revised estimate
regarding Hospital at Villagam.
Further,
the DDC visited Tarthpora and inspected ongoing macadamization works there
being carried out by R&B. He expressed satisfaction on the quality of work
being executed and directed for speeding up the pace of work.
Jahangir
also visited Government Higher Secondary School Tarthpora where he urged
students to work hard to realize their potential.
During the visit, DDC inspected various roads
viz Lelam-Kukroosa, Pohrupeth-Chogal, Tarathpora-Kalmula, Tulwora-Sirajpora
etc. He urged the concerned agencies to ensure material specificity and quality
of works, besides timely completion of works.
