over view about arrangements
KARGIL, AUGUST 11: Election
Observers for Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Elections
2018, Pradeep Kumar, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Abdul Rashid War and Rajesh
Sharma today convened a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner and Chief
Executive Officer LAHDC Kargil, Vikas Kundal and senior officers of district
administration to review preparedness of elections.
Threadbare
discussion on modalities for smooth conduct of the election was also held in
the meeting.
The meeting
discussed arrangements being put in place viz a viz security and other related
arrangements.
The Observers
asked the security and administration to work in close coordination to ensure
that hassle free elections are held.
They asked the
district administration to ensure hassle free transportation facilities to the
polling staff and also ensure facilities properly who have to perform their
duties at various far flung and inaccessible areas.
The Observers
also got firsthand account of the facilities being provided in the Control Room
and Grievance Cell set up to monitor the elections.
They were told
that all basic facilities of connectivity like high speed internet connectivity
and other related things of communication have already been installed.
The Observers
also directed for ensuring proper security of the Strong Room meant to store
EVMs. It was also directed for installation of CCTV Cameras and other related
surveillance gadgets.
During the
meeting, the Deputy Commissioner gave briefing over view of the arrangements
being put in place to ensure hassle free elections also. He also informed that
fool proof arrangements have been made and due care has been taken to ensure
that polling staff and the voters do not face any inconvenient in relation to
logistic support of transportation and other related.
SSP Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar, Additional SP, Chief Planning Officer,
Kargil, Deputy Election Officer, Assistant Director Information, Coordinator,
LAHDC Election, Accounts Officer and other concerned officers were present in
the meeting.
