BANDIPORA,
SEPTEMBER 06: A meeting of District Task Force (DTF) committee
regarding Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign was today held here under
the chairmanship of Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr Bilquess Mir.
The objective of
the meeting was to review the arrangements being put in place for the smooth
conduct of MR Campaign. On the occasion, Deputy CMO, Dr Parveza informed the
meeting that a total 122423 beneficiaries have been targeted for MR Campaign in
district Bandipora.
The meeting also
informed that 260 Aanganwari workers, 425 ASHA workers and 114 vaccinators
shall be engaged for the Campaign while as 36 baseline supervisors will
supervise the process of the Campaigning.
Giving description
about the vaccination campaign, Dy CMO said that Rubella is an infectious, yet
mild viral illness affecting both children and adults that can cause death and
disabilities in the new born if an unprotected pregnant woman gets infected
with Rubella virus in early pregnancy.
Among others Deputy Chief Education Officer, Block Medical Officer
besides doctors from AYUSH were present in the meeting.
