KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 11: District Development Commissioner
Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today conducted an extensive tour of Mannigah
area of the district to check the availability of basic amenities to the people
there.
He inspected
various ongoing developmental projects carried out by various departments and agencies
and issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for necessary
coordinated action.
The DDC was
accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development, Yaar Ali Khan, Chief Medical
Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, I&FC, PDD and other concerned
officials.
The DDC visited
7.50 km Shatpora-Mannigah-Behaksabya road taken up under NABARD by R&B
Department. He was informed that 5 kms of the road have been blacktopped while
as rest of the construction and upgradation work is in progress. The DDC
directed the R&B authorities to complete the road within the fixed
timeline.
He also
directed for construction of protection wall of existing nalla besides
approaching road of the village. The DDC also fixed a 10-day timeline for
installation of electric polls in the area.
While interacting
with the people of the area, the DDC said that 1800 electric polls are being
installed in the area so that every household is connected to the power grid.
He said that the work has already been started and directed the concerned
department to complete the work within the set timeframe.
The DDC also
inspected Middle School Beeranbal, Mannigah Middle School and interacted with
teachers and students wherein he directed the concerned officers for levelling
of school lawn, fencing of the school besides upgradation of approaching road
for school.
During the
inspection, he marked the dilapidated condition of the school building and
taking cognizance of the public demand, the DDC issued on spot directions to
R&B department for construction of new building and ensure restroom and
water facility in the school.
The DDC enquired
from the students about daily class work and Mid-Day Meals and asked
students to take balanced diet and give more attention to their health and
education.
He directed for
construction of tile path and renovation of Eid Gah at Pathan Basti and for
early completion of a school building taken up under RMSA in the area.
The DDC also
inspected Glass Daji- Kashmiri Mannigah and Shalibathu roads taken up
under PMGSY during which he directed the concerned agency to speed up the pace
of work and ensure completion of roads within the stipulated time frame.
Later, he visited
the under-construction playground at Shalibathu and issued necessary directions
to the concerned for its on-time construction towards promoting sports
activities and youth engagement.
He also directed Exen PHE for replacement of old damaged pipes to
redress the demand of the people of Shalibathu for safe and clean drinking
water.
