KARGIL, OCTOBER 05: The Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Vikas Kundal today directed the officers of Roads and Buildings (R&B) and Public Health Engineering (PHE) Departments to conduct survey of ShakarChiktan block and identify the new road projects and Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) and prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and submit the same to the concerned quarter for accord of necessary sanction.
He also asked the Irrigation Department to formulate an comprehensive plans for development, repairs and renovation of all irrigation Khuls included Kanji Nallah and furnish the same to the concerned quarter for arrangement of funds.
These instructions were given by the Deputy Commissioner to the concerned departments in a Public Darbar convened to hear and redress the public grievance at far-flung areas of ShakarChiktan block today.
The Darbar chaired by the Deputy Commissioner witnessed participation of people in large numbers. The Representatives of the 11 revenue villages of the ShakarChiktan area included Bodh Kharbo, Stakchay, Samrah, Chiktan, Shakar and Hagnis raised various developmental issues of their respective areas. These included early release of land compensation acquired for construction of road projects, issuance of cattle feed, inadequate staff in health and education departments, up gradation of schools and Primary Health Centres, measures for tackling to minimize the damages caused due to wild animals and stray dogs, construction of lanes, drains, culverts and ponds.
While listening the developmental problems of the people, the Deputy Commissioner gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into a phased manner. He, however, in some cases gave on the spot directions to the concerned quarter for early redressal.  
Responding to the demand of construction of playing fields including Ice Hockey field, Vikas Kundal said that the instructions have already been given to the concerned to identify the three places for setting up of playing fields in ShakarChiktan block so that the fund could be released under “Khelo India” scheme for the purpose.
While responding to the demand of Bus for school children, the DC asked the JK State Road Transport Corporation to arrange the Bus service for school children in the area on priority.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said that K. Oil will be supplied to the consumers of ShakarChiktan block within a fortnight. He said recently 8000 MR vaccinations have been done in the area.
The DC asked the officers of the district and Tehsil administration to address the issues at grass root level and assert themselves in resolving local issues of public importance.
Senior Officers of district administration included Sub Divisional Magistrate, ShakarChiktan, Ghulam Mehdi, Chief Medical Officer, Kargil, Mohd Ibrahim Khan, Executive Engineer, R&B, Abdul Mutalib, Executive Engineer, PDD, Altaf Hussain, Assistant Director Information, Abdul Ahad Bhat and other Tehsil level officers were attended the Public Darbar.

JAMMU, OCTOBER 03:  As per Superintending Engineer, Elect. Maintt. & R.E. Circle Jammu, the power supply to Sundarpur Road etc, Purana Pind, Park, Revenue Centre, PHE DT, Khamb, Tunda Rice mill and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV RSP-VII feeder shall remain affected on October 04 and 05 from 08 am to 12 noon.
Similarly, the power supply to Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Gujjar Colony, Chatta, Chowadhi and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV CH-2, CH-8 and CH-10 feeders shall remain affected on October 04 from 07 am to 11 am.
Likewise, the power supply to District Police Lines, Gandhi Nagar, Gulshan Ground, MAM College, Vikram Chowk, JKSERC office and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV RC-3, RC-5 and RC-6 feeders shall remain affected on October 09 from 07 am to 11 am.
Meanwhile the power supply to Bablina and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV BL-3 feeder shall remain affected on October 04, 06 and 08 from 07 am to 11 am.
Similarly, the power supply to Satwari and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV SA-3 feeder shall remain affected on October 04 from 07 am to 11 am.
Likewise, the power supply to Sainik Colony, Trikuta Nagar and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV SC-2 and TRN-3 feeders shall remain affected on October 05 from 07 am to 11 am.
Meanwhile, the power supply Trikuta Nagar and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV TRN-1 feeder shall remain affected on October 06 from 07 am to 11 am.
Similarly, the power supply Channi Himmat and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV CH-6 feeder shall remain affected on October 04 and 06 from 07 am to 11 am.

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 25: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir here today chaired a meeting of officers of Education, Rural Development, PHE, PDD and other concerned departments here at DC Office Complex.
The meeting reviewed the progress achieved under TAD programme in the district. It was revealed that under the programme 322 different works were taken up in various schools of the district.
The meeting discussed threadbare the facilities being provided to the identified educational institutions which include drinking water, electricity and toilets.
It was given out that 90% of the target has been achieved so far under the programme, while as the rest of the works are smoothly progressing in these schools.
The DDC on the occasion stressed for achieving the 100% target within the shortest possible time frame for which he directed to speed up the pace of work. He impressed upon the officials to ensure use of quality material on the works besides resolving all the bottlenecks if any, so that all the identified schools are covered under the programme in the district.
The DDC constituted the Committee comprising of the officers of Education, Rural Development, Revenue, PHE and PDD for verification and reconciliation of the executed works. He asked officers not to leave any stone unturned to enhance aesthetics of schools.
Giving directions for providing drinking water facility to schools, he said that arrangements for groundwater should be made wherever required. He also directed for quality painting work on toilet exteriors and stressed for completion of finishing work within shortest possible time frame. The DDC impressed upon officers to resolve all issues of Mannigah area on priority and said that there should not be any kind of grievance from the people of the area.
 Among others, JD Planning, Imtiyaz Ahmad besides CEO, ZEO’s, BDOs and other concerned attended the meeting.

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 24: The Government today ordered constitution of State Convergence Plan Committee (SCP), District Convergence Plan Committee (DCP) and Block Convergence Plan Committee (BCP) for implementation of POSHAN Abhiyaan in the State.
State Convergence Plan Committee includes Administrative Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department as its Chairman, while as Administrative Secretary, Finance Department, Administrative Secretary,       Planning,   Development          and Monitoring Department, Administrative    Secretary,  School       Education Department, Administrative Secretary, PHE, I&FC Department, Administrative Secretary,  Department        of      Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Administrative Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Administrative Secretary,      Food,          Civil          Supplies     & Consumer Affairs Department, State Mission Director, NRHM, representative of Food & Nutrition Board, Government of India, State representative from National Institute of Public Cooperation & Child Development (NIPCCD) and State Mission Director, ICDS will be its members.
The role and terms of reference of the Committee shall be to consolidate and examine the requirements given in District Plans received from various Districts, segregate the requirements and seek the financial commitment before inclusion in the State Convergence plan (SCP), determine the final requirement and prepare a State convergence plan, indicate the roll-out plan, assign responsibilities of each department to avoid any overlapping or consequent shifting of responsibility, submit the SCP for inclusion in State Annual Program Implementation Plan (APIP) for approval by State Empowered Committee (EPC) before submission to the Ministry of Women & Child Development (MWCD). The components which are to be funded from the State budget need to be segregated and clearly mentioned in the APIP, ensure timely issuance of sanction by each Department, and prepare guidelines for release of funds for convergent actions directly to the District Development Commissioners.
The District Convergence Plan Committee (DCP) will have concerned Deputy Commissioner of the district as the Chairperson, while as District Programme Officer will serve as Member Secretary and Assistant Commissioner Development, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Chief Medical officer, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer, PHE, Chief Education Officer, District Panchayat Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Child Development Project Officer, and Assistant Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs will be its members.
The role and terms of reference of the District Convergence Plan Committee (DCP) shall be to examine the need assessment made by the BCP for essential interventions at the village/AWC level and the availability of resources, consolidate requirement of interventions at the District level, considering the need, each line Department to prepare their action plan at the District level for delivering the interventions relating to them, take inputs from PRI members including on the extent of community
participation, submit the consolidated District convergence plan to the State Convergence plan committee for approval and for earmarking the financial provisions, wherever required, the DCP Committee may make physical inspections to assess the need projected.
For Block Convergence Plan Committee (BCP) the Sub-Divisional Magistrate will serve as Chairman, while as Executive Engineer, PHE will be member and Child Development Project Officer, ICDS will be its Member Secretary. The rest Block Development Officer, Block Medical Officer, Zonal Education Officer, Tehsil Supply Officer of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department and 05 Supervisors of ICDS (on rotation basis) Social Welfare Department will work as members.
The role and terms of reference of the Block Convergence Plan Committee (BCP) is to do the assessment of essential interventions at the village/AWC level i.e water, sanitation, food, health, intervention, immunization, ANC/PNC, Vitamin-A, IFA, de-worming tablets, functioning of VHSNC, etc. and the availability of resources, the assessment at the village level shall be done by AWW and supervisor in association with PRI representative under the supervision of concerned CDPO/DPO. CDPO/DPO shall submit the inputs to the area SDM, consolidate and assess requirement of interventions at the block level, considering the need, each line department at the block level to propose their action plan for inclusion in the DCP, involve PRI Members actively in assessing the need and seek their suggestions, and submit the Block Convergence Plan to the District Authorities for inclusion in the DCP & Approval of DM.
The State Convergence Plan Committee, District Convergence Plan Committee and Block Convergence Plan Committee shall be serviced by Social Welfare Department.

Rs 10 cr earmarked for mitigation process
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 17: Secretary PHE, I&FC and Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction, Farooq A Shah reviewed draft guidelines for J&K State Disaster Mitigation Fund here today.
It was decided that an action plan for disaster mitigation would be formulated with a corpus of Rs 10 crore. The meeting was informed that the said amount will solely be spent on disaster mitigation.
Farooq Shah directed the officials to organize community-based disaster management programmes and involve local socio-religious committees so that they provide volunteers for training who can become first responders in any kind of disaster. These volunteers will be given training besides basic equipment to be used during disasters, he said.
The meeting was attended by Director Disaster Management Amir Ali, Director Finance and other officers of the department.

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 15: Secretary, Public Health Engineering (PHE), Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) and Relief and Rehabilitation, Farooq Ahmed Shah inspected the Water Supply Scheme under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) here at Dharap last evening.
He was accompanied by Chief Engineer PHE Jammu, Ashok Gandotra, Senior Engineer Mechanical Urban, Ajay Singh Wazir and XEns PHE, J P Singh and Ajay Sharma.
Farooq Shah directed for de-silting up to the canal bed and retrieval of the garbage from the canal and its proper dumping before releasing the water in the canal. He urged upon the people not to throw garbage in and around the canal which results the blockage of its channels.
Shah stressed upon the concerned officers to personally monitor the progress of ongoing works in the field besides properly maintaining tour diaries. He further instructed that AEEs should sit in their respective sub-division offices while JEs should remain present in their Section Headquarters
Shah asked the officers to take up plantation drives along the canals and proper fencing should be done to save the plants from stray animals.
The Secretary said that the government is focusing on ensuring drinking water security by adopting holistic approach through conjunctive use of surface, ground and rain water harvesting. He informed that various Piped Water Supply Schemes are presently going on in the State under the project. He further informed that the said scheme caters to the drinking water needs of the area having a population of over 8000 souls.

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 15: District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, today reviewed the Muharram arrangements and approved a number of measures for providing better amenities to Imam Baras at Sumbal.  
SSP Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, SDM Syed Naseer Ahmed, Nodal Officer Dr Iftikhar Ghazi, SDPO Sumbal, Exens of PHE, PDD, PWD, I&C, Tehsildars, district officers, representatives of religious organizations attended the meeting. 
The district administration has already provided 58 double-battery inverters, 100 water tanks of 1000 litres capacity each and 30 Community Sanitary Complexes at all Imam Baras. Meanwhile, water supply through tankers, installation of LED lights, blacktopping of roads, provision of additional ration supply, firewood, healthcare facilities were also reviewed in the meeting. 
The DDC directed the departments to put in their best efforts for ensuring proper arrangements during Muharram days especially potable drinking water supply, power supply along with backup, sanitation, healthcare, security, communication and basic infrastructure. 
Directions were given to the officers of the forest department to ensure the availability of sufficient stock of fire wood during Muharram days.
The DDC said that district administration is committed to address all the developmental issues and asked the officers to be proactive in redressing issues of the general public.

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 15: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today directed all District Development Commissioners (DDCs) of the Kashmir Division to full-fill all genuine demands of the general public on priority.
The Divisional Commissioner was speaking at a meeting he chaired to review the follow-up action of the demands made by the general public before Advisor Vijay Kumar during his visit to Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian districts.
The meeting was informed that 68 demands were raised by deputations in Anantnag, 67 in Kulgam, 137 in Pulwama and 25 in Shopian districts before the Advisor. The demands pertain to Health services, R&B, PHE, PDD, Education, Sports development, Irrigation and Flood Control Departments.
The Divisional Commissioner directed concerned District Development Commissioners (DDCs) to ascertain all demands and full fill them on priority.
Regarding the demands which need additional budgetary support, Div Com asked concerned DDCs to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) immediately and send it to the Divisional Commissioner’s office within a week.
All DDCs were asked to send fortnightly report to the Divisional Commissioners office for further course of necessary action.
The Divisional Commissioner reiterated that the Governor’s administration is committed to ensuring holistic development across the valley including Leh and Kargil districts.
District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Assistant Commissioner and other concerned officers were present in the meeting while as District Development Commissioners of Anantnag, Pulwama, and Shopian districts participated in the meeting via video conferencing.

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 14: Secretary, Public Health Engineering (PHE), Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) and Relief and Rehabilitation, Farooq Ahmed Shah, today reviewed the functioning of the PHE and I&FC Departments in separate meetings here. The Secretary also took stock of the progress made in various projects under these sectors.
The meetings were attended by Chief Engineer PHE Jammu, Ashok Gandotra, Chief Engineer I&FC Jammu, SEs, Executive Engineers and other officers of the concerned departments.
During the meetings, Shah assessed the practical and ground level implication of the schemes along with financial progress.
He stressed upon the concerned officers to conduct regular site visits to stay well versed with the actual situation and impending issues of their departments. He instructed them to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing projects for their early completion.
The Secretary directed the PHE department for completion of work on Water Supply Schemes at the earliest to augment the water supply in Jammu province. He said, during this fiscal, the focus will be on the installation of more hand pumps for wider coverage of small habitations.
A detailed discussion was also held on regularization of all drinking water supply connections, repair of defunct tube wells and many alike.
Chief Engineer, PHE, briefed the Secretary about the status of water supply in urban and rural sectors.
The meeting was informed that against the requirement of 65 MGD for urban sector, 50 MGD water is available thus there is a shortfall of 15 MGD.
To overcome the shortfall, the Secretary instructed the concerned officers to add 4 MGD of water from Sitlee and Boria filtration plants to supplement the water-stressed areas of Jammu city like Janipur, Roopnagar, Bantalab, Bathindi, Narwal, Sunjwan and other such areas.
The meeting was further informed that several projects for the augmentation of water supply in rural areas have also been framed under NRDWP, NABARAD and LIC sectors. A total of 142 schemes under NRDWP sectors are targeted during the year 2018-19 out of 587 schemes are ongoing which are covering 236 habitations and 1.69 lakh population will be provided the safe drinking water. In addition to this, 117 schemes amounting to Rs 378 crore submitted to government under NABARD sector to be completed in three years.
The chair was further informed that under mega projects, construction of Tawi feeder channel D-9A of escape channel for expansion of Jammu Airport was taken up and completed.
In order to ensure assured irrigation to farming community, I&FC department has undertaken a number of schemes under major, medium and minor irrigation. These schemes have been taken up under PMKSY/AIBP viz modernization of Ranbir Canal and under NABARD, three new schemes have been approved. For these schemes, approximately Rs 20.99 crore has been sanctioned under State Capex Budget for the year 2018-19.
The concerned officers also briefed the Secretary about the progress of ongoing schemes under minor irrigation sector, flood control sector, flood management programme, river management activities and many alike.

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 11: District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today conducted an extensive tour of Mannigah area of the district to check the availability of basic amenities to the people there.
He inspected various ongoing developmental projects carried out by various departments and agencies and issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for necessary coordinated action.
The DDC was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development, Yaar Ali Khan, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, I&FC, PDD and other concerned officials.
The DDC visited 7.50 km Shatpora-Mannigah-Behaksabya road taken up under NABARD by R&B Department. He was informed that 5 kms of the road have been blacktopped while as rest of the construction and upgradation work is in progress. The DDC directed the R&B authorities to complete the road within the fixed timeline. 
 He also directed for construction of protection wall of existing nalla besides approaching road of the village. The DDC also fixed a 10-day timeline for installation of electric polls in the area.
While interacting with the people of the area, the DDC said that 1800 electric polls are being installed in the area so that every household is connected to the power grid. He said that the work has already been started and directed the concerned department to complete the work within the set timeframe. 
The DDC also inspected Middle School Beeranbal, Mannigah Middle School and interacted with teachers and students wherein he directed the concerned officers for levelling of school lawn, fencing of the school besides upgradation of approaching road for school.
During the inspection, he marked the dilapidated condition of the school building and taking cognizance of the public demand, the DDC issued on spot directions to R&B department for construction of new building and ensure restroom and water facility in the school.
The DDC enquired from the students about daily class work and Mid-Day Meals and asked students to take balanced diet and give more attention to their health and education. 
He directed for construction of tile path and renovation of Eid Gah at Pathan Basti and for early completion of a school building taken up under RMSA in the area. 
The DDC also inspected Glass Daji- Kashmiri Mannigah and Shalibathu roads taken up under PMGSY during which he directed the concerned agency to speed up the pace of work and ensure completion of roads within the stipulated time frame. 
Later, he visited the under-construction playground at Shalibathu and issued necessary directions to the concerned for its on-time construction towards promoting sports activities and youth engagement.
He also directed Exen PHE for replacement of old damaged pipes to redress the demand of the people of Shalibathu for safe and clean drinking water.

Such lavatories have become grave health, environmental hazard: Farooq Shah
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 07: The Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department has called for immediate removal of Individual Household Toilets/Public Toilets from the embankment of rivers, streams, lakes and other water bodies.
“It has been brought to the notice of the PHE Department that Individual Household toilets/Public toilets, existing on the embankment of various rivers, streams, lakes and other water bodies, are directly disposing off sewage into these water bodies,” said a communication written by Secretary to the Government, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Department, Farooq Ahmad Shah to all the Deputy Commissioners in the State.
It said such an unhygienic practice not only contaminates the water but gives rise to waterborne diseases, besides polluting the environment.  “This practice is also in violation to the provisions of Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act, 2010, in terms of which said practice is a punishable offence with imprisonment for a term, which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to Rs 10000, or both,” the communication said adding immediate demolition of these toilets has become imperative to prevent water borne diseases and to safeguard the environment.
“Keeping in view the sensitivity of the issue, I seek your cooperation in the matter and request you to direct the field magistrates to take cognizance of the violation of the Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act and issue directions for voluntary or forceful demolition of all toilets constructed near embankments of various water bodies in a time bound manner,” the communication said adding that the field staff of the PHE, I&FC Department, shall be available to facilitate the field magistrates in achieving the set objective.

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 06: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav today reviewed the arrangements being made for hassle free observation of Muharram congregations here in a meeting today.
The DC directed the officers of PHE and PDD to ensure un-interrupted water and power supply during Muharram in the district and asked the Municipal authorities to ensure cleanliness in and around the Imam Baras for the conveniences of devotees. The R&B department was directed to repair the dilapidated roads, if any, from where the procession would take place.
The DC also sought a detailed report on the security and traffic arrangements.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Anwar-ul-Haq, Tehsildars of Haveli and Mandi, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, CEO Muncipal Committee , XEn PHE, XEn R&B, Deputy CMO, Inspector ARTO,  besides other district officers and heads representatives of various religious organizations attended the meeting.

Farooq Shah seeks proactive, time-bound action on Flood Mitigation Plan
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 29: Secretary PHE, I&FC, Farooq Ahmed Shah today called upon the engineers of the Flood Control Department to increase their visibility on ground and take proactive initiatives to achieve set goals for flood protection works in the State.
 The Secretary issued these directions while chairing a high-level meeting to review the functioning of Flood Mitigation plans here today.
 The meeting was attended by the Chief Engineer I&FC, M. M Shahnawaz, Director, Disaster   Management Amir Ali, Ex- Chief Engineers, Experts, Superintendent Engineers, Executive Engineers of I&FC department and officers of allied departments.
 The meeting was informed that in 1st phase, Rs 399.29 crore flood recovery project was taken up under Prime Ministers Development Package (PMDP). It was informed that the Ist phase of dredging and de-silting of River Jhelum will be completed by March 2019.
 It was disclosed that out of Rs 399.29 crore, an amount of Rs 142.33 crore has been paid as land compensation of Flood Spill Channel (FSC) at Shariefabad and Naidkhai, Rs 82.00 crore for Re-Sectioning of FSC, while Rs 35 crore have been expended for construction of two bridges on FSC at Shariefabad and Naidkhai.
 With regard to dredging of River Jhelum in various stretches, Rs 46 crore has been spent so far, while as Rs 73 crore for flood protection works on River Jehlum and vulnerable spots from Khannabal to Baramulla and Rs 20.96 crore have been spent on other project sub-heads.
 The Secretary was informed that the amount has been spent on the works pertaining to flood protection, anti-erosion, widening of the river, raising of embankments, re-sectioning, de-silting and dredging of the river under the flood management plan. 
 He also directed officials to ensure zero tolerance of encroachments on the banks of FSC, Jhelum and other water bodies. He said that if any officer is found delaying the removal of encroachments, strict action will be taken against the officials.
He said that any defaulter contractor or the contractor working not upto the mark will face cancellation of their allotted tenders. He said that the projects are of utmost importance and Governor Administration is personally monitoring the project. He said these works once finished will greatly reduce the risks of flood in the coming years.
The meeting was informed that 2nd phase of dredging amounting to Rs. 1684 Cr will start very soon for which survey is under process through web cost sponsored by government.
The Secretary said that Governor Administration is keen to provide liberal funding for these projects.
He said that dredging unit in Baramulla will be revived. For the purpose, the Secretary said two dredgers machines will be purchased soon, and tenders in this regard have already been finalized. The meeting also discussed about the proposal to connect Anchar lake with Sindh nallah is in pipeline.
The Secretary also directed concerned officers to start de-silting work of Chunt Khul on war footing basis, for which the SOPs put in place by the LAWDA have been discussed threadbare. 
To deal with any kind of flood threat in future, the Secretary impressed for keeping field staff and JCB Machinery ready.
The meeting also decided to prepare a proposal for the construction of Seasonally Small Dams near rivers for preserving of water.
On the occasion, Director Disaster Management, Ex- Chief Engineers and Experts of flood control gave their valuable   suggestions to protect valley from the floods in future.

RAJOURI, AUGUST 28: District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad reviewed and finalized the arrangements for Shri Krishan Janamashthami festival, here the other day, at a joint meeting of officers and representatives of Sanatam Dharam Sabha and other religious organizations.
The meeting had a detailed deliberation on the arrangements for celebration of the festival.
The DDC directed the PDD and PHE authorities to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, while the Police Department was asked to deploy adequate number of police personnel en-route Shoba Yatra. DySP Traffic was directed to ensure proper traffic management besides removal of vehicles parked along the road for smooth conduct of the procession.
The DDC further instructed the EO Municipal Committee, Rajouri, to ensure cleanliness at all vital points of the Rajouri city.
Health department informed the meeting that one ambulance will be made available en-route Shoba Yatra and one ambulance shall be stationed at Old Bus Stand.
The Fire Services authorities were directed to remain vigilant to meet any eventuality.
TSO Rajouri and Assistant Controller Food Safety and Standard, were directed to conduct the market checking on September 01, 2018 in Rajouri town to ensure proper quality and pricing of fruits, vegetables and other essential commodities.
The meeting was informed that the Shobha Yatra will be taken out on September 03, 2018 from Sanatam Dharam Sabha ground and after passing through the main bazaars of Rajouri city, Div. Morh, would culminate at Old Bus stand, Rajouri.
All the officers were directed to ensure adequate arrangements relating to their respective departments ahead of the festival.

JAMMU, AUGUST 22: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today visited rain affected areas at Janipur locality including Excelsior Lane & adjoining areas which were severely damaged due to recent heavy rain fall and took stock of restoration work of essential services.
The Div Com was accompanied by Joint Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), engineers of UEED, PHE, PWD(R&B), ERA and other senior functionaries of executing agencies.
Officers apprised the Div Com about the damages caused to the infrastructure due to recent heavy rain fall and restoration work being executed by the agencies so far. It was informed that the agencies have undertaken the repair works on priority and restored the damaged patches of road and other allied works.
 The Divisional Commissioner called for  finding a permanent solution to the problem of Nullah at Excelsior Lane that causes huge damage to the infrastructure and public property in the area every Monsoon season. He urged the concerned departments to work in close synergy and work out a futuristic strategy to find out the permanent solution to deal with this teething problem. He directed the agencies to expedite the restoration work of nallah so that the inhabitants do not face any difficulty.
 The Div Com directed PHE department to immediately replace the old water pipe lines and provide adequate safe drinking water facilities to the people. He also directed the officials of the UEED to immediately clear the piled up garbage along the road and cleansing the choked nallahs.
Sanjeev Verma also interacted with the locals and listened to their grievances. He assured them that their problems would be addressed at the earliest.

DODA, AUGUST 16: The District Development Commissioner Doda, Simrandeep Singh today convened a meeting with the officers of district administration to discuss the arrangements being put in place for the smooth celebration of upcoming festival Eid-ul-Azha.
ACR Doda Tariq Hussain, ACD Doda Angrez Singh, CPO Doda, DSP HQ Doda, EO MC Doda and senior officers of PHE, PDD, CAPD, Health attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the DDC directed the officers to further intensify market inspections to keep a strict vigil over profiteering, black-marketing, quality and hoarding of essential commodities in the market. He said that sufficient mutton besides live sheep and goats will be made available in the market at the rates fixed by the administration. PHE department was asked to ensure adequate supply of water in the town.
To ensure hassle free movement of vehicles and people on Eid, Police department was directed to frame traffic management plan and ensure its regulation by deploying sufficient number of personnel in the town.
To tackle with any medical emergency, health department was impressed upon to keep the ambulance along with doctors and medicines ready. The EO Municipality was asked to intensify the sanitation drive in the town.
Other arrangements including the stock and supply of ration, LPG Cylinders, fire tenders, uninterrupted power supply were also discussed and necessary directions were passed to the concerned.
Floriculture department organizes plantation drive
Jammu, August 16: Floriculture Department today organized plantation and sanitation drive at MHS Zanana park during which various saplings were planted by Director Floriculture Jammu Babila Rakwal along with senior officers of the department, members of the ladies club and residents of the area who actively participated in the drive. Department also handed over MHS Zanana Park Ladies Club building to its president Vijay Gandotra and other members of the club after face-lifting and renovation.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Floriculture Jammu appealed the people to plant more and more trees in their surrounding areas to deal with the situation arising due to rapid climatic change. “Increased tree cover would reduce the solar radiation reaching the ground surface thereby providing relief from the scorching heat being faced in the summer season”, she added.
Among others District Floriculture Officer Vikrant Sharma along with all Assistant Floriculture Officers of Jammu and officers from Engineering Wing of the floriculture department were also present on the occasion.
