Jammu, Sept 5: Govt. Hr. Sec. School
Sunjwan on Wednesday celebrated Teachers Day in collaboration with Rotary Club
Jammu. On the occasion Former Dy. CM and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder
Gupta was Chief Guest and Subhash Gandotra, President Rotary Club Jammu was
Guest of Honour. A colourful Cultural program was organised on the occasion.
Kavinder
Gupta on the Occasion Remembered the Bharat Ratna Dr. Radhakrishna, former
president of India and his contributions to the education sector to modern
India in 20th Century. He said for his contributions India
Celebrates Teachers day on his Birthday. Gupta said India has remained a world
guru in education sector. He said a teacher is a maker of man. He is foundation
of all Education, and thus of the whole civilization of mankind, present and future.
No nation reconstruction is possible without the active cooperation of the
teacher. Education is a process aimed at socialized and humanizing individual
citizen through their life from birth till death. Teacher is the maker of
nation, so for the development of the country, it is very important to have
good teachers and good teachers can be produced only if we have a good system
of teacher education and dedicated and efficient teacher-educators. The teacher
can be rightly called a nation builder. Teachers through their perseverance
love and sacrifices have shown us the right path in which great men have built
our nation. It is our dear teachers who mould our character, our personality
and show us the right direction which leads us to our final destination.
Flourishing national development and a society truly prosperous with knowledge
all begins from its teachers. Teachers need to have a high level of commitment
towards their duties and responsibilities which have been entrusted to them.
The teacher is a judge who gives marks and ratings. The teacher is a
representative of the society who inculcates moral precepts. In the development
of a country, great attention has to be paid to education and learning, as well
as good morals, and nobody is more suited to assist in this process than the
humble teacher. Without teachers, both knowledge and morals would suffer. The
role of the teacher is a multi-faceted one comprising academic, pedagogical and
social roles. Academic roles comprise teaching, counselling and supervisory
roles while pedagogical roles include instructional, evaluation and
facilitating roles. As a facilitator of learning, the teacher is involved in
motivating pupils to learn, maintaining control in the classroom and the school
in general, and creating a conducive environment for learning to take place.
Social roles of the teacher include among others socializing roles which is
preparing pupils to participate in the way of life of the society. Principal
Govt. H.S.S Sunjwan, Sukltana Kousar, Dr. Dushyant among other Staff members of
the school were present on the occasion.
Later
Kavinder Gupta also facilitated treachersat Teachers day function in Shiksha
Niketan Higher secondary school Jeevan Nagar along with Baldev Blowria and
Vinay Gupta. He appreciated the management of the school for facilitating more
than four hundred staff members of the institution on teacher’s day. He said
this gesture towards the staff boosts their morale. Mr. Gupta said
the Teachers' roles today are considerably different than they
used to be. Teachers were once issued a specific curriculum to teach, and a set
of instructions on how to teach it, using the same methods for all students. In
today's world, a teacher's role is quite multifaceted. Their job is to counsel
students, help them learn how to use their knowledge and integrate it into
their lives so they will become valuable members of society. Teachers are
encouraged to adapt learning methods to each individual student's learning, to
challenge and inspire them to learn.
Gupta
further said that the role of a teacher is clearly more than just planning and
executing lesson plans. In some senses,
because the teacher spends so much time with the students, she or he can become
the student's third parent. Teachers can be a constant positive role model for
their students, particularly for children that lack a solid family foundation.
