Jammu, Sept 11: On the insistence of local
inhabitants of Raghunath Bazar area and people and traders living in the
vicinity of Nau Gaj Peer, Gummat, Hari Market, Lower Gummat, Upper Gummat and
Maheshi Gate, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today removed the small gate
installed on rear end of JMC complex thereby giving people a thorough passage
for their convenience.
A deputation led by BJP General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi also
met Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and thanked him
for removing the gate to allow free movement of pedestrians and two wheelers.
He said that this was a long pending demand of local inhabitants and by
removing the gate JMC has done a good job in helping people of the area.
Yudhvir Sethi led delegation which met the JMC commissioner also
said that by opening the passage distance to some important destinations for
people will be lessened and during some odd hours they can also carry their
patients to the hospitals located on the other side of the city bus stand.
The BJP leader said that this was a long pending demand of local
inhabitants who wanted this to be a thorough fare. The deputation on meeting
the JMC commissioner they said that this passage was through since ages but
some officials had installed a Rotary Gate to block the free movement of
pedestrians. They thanked Commissioner and said that this move will help the
local businessmen, vendors and even the inhabitants in carry on with your
routine activities.
Government Medical College hospital, Super speciality hospital
and Shalamar Hospital besides all other markets and bus stand has now become
approachable for local inhabitants and the thanked JMC for their this move
which was pending since long.

Gummet Ass.,Gian Sharma, President new Hari Market, Ashwani Sharma, President

Sonu, Rinku, Ramesh Chander and hundreds of Shopkeepers of old city.
