Barabanki (UP), Dec 26 : Two persons were killed and three others injured in a firecracker explosion at a house in Gunauli Dharupur village here, police said Wednesday.
The explosion occurred in the house of one Mohd. Hashim when firecrackers were being manufactured on Tuesday.
The explosion left two persons dead. They were identified as 15-year-old Sarju and 28-year-old Mohd Vaish.
A number of adjacent houses were damaged in the explosion, the police said.
The injured have been admitted to the district hospital and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. PTI
Barabanki, Sep 11 (PTI) Three teenagers drowned while taking a bath in a pond in Haidargarh area, police said Tuesday.
The incident occurred Monday evening in Gharkuiyaan village.
The deceased were identified as Vivek (10), Narendra (12) and Jitendra (19), the police added.
Barabanki (UP), Jul 24: A 16-year-old girl died today after she was allegedly set ablaze by her jilted lover at Chaukhandi village under Safdarganj police station limits in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, the police said.
The girl was at a neighbour's house when the accused, identified as Amit (24), dragged her out, poured kerosene and set her on fire, they said.
The victim's father, in his complaint, also alleged the involvement of the accused's mother in the crime.
The girl suffered serious burn injuries and was rushed to the district hospital where she died.
The girl was allegedly in touch with another local youth and this might have led him to committing the crime, the police said, adding that a case was registered and efforts were on to nab the culprit.
Circle Officer Rajesh Yadav, who visited the spot, said the girl had some arguments with the accused after which he set her ablaze.
All angles will be probed in the case, Yadav said. (PTI)
Barabanki (UP), Jul 21: At least four persons were killed and a man was injured when their car dashed against a stationary truck near Safedabad crossing here, police said today.
The driver of the car lost control over the vehicle and dashed against the truck, killing four people on the spot yesterday, they said.
The deceased, identified as Pavan (38), Shailesh (40), Rajiv (41) and Nagendra (38), were on their way to Lucknow to attend a meeting, police said, adding that the driver was seriously injured and admitted to the Lucknow Trauma Centre. (PTI)
