Jaipur, Dec 12 (PTI) Congress will stake claim to form the government in Rajasthan on Wednesday evening after the party president decides on the new chief minister, PCC president Sachin Pilot said.

"We have full majority and will stake claim to form government in the evening. We will take along all non-BJP parties and elected members who are against BJP and are willing to support us," Pilot told reporters at the Pradesh Congress Committee before the Congress Legislative Party meeting.

Asked about the choice of the chief minister, Pilot said the party's newly elected MLAs will debate the question, and the party president will take a decision after that.

The chief minister would be declared in the second CLP meeting in the evening and thereafter the party leaders will meet Governor Kalyan Singh to stake claim on the government.

The Congress emerged as the single-largest party in Rajasthan in Tuesday's vote count, winning 99 seats. It's ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) won one seat for a total of 100 seats -- the required number to form government.

The BJP got 73 seats, and the Bahujan Samaj Party won 6 seats. BSP leader Mayawati on Wednesday pledged support for the Congress. The CPI(M) got two seats, Independents won 13 and other parties got 6, according to the state Election Commission.

The decision will be taken by Gandhi based on the feedback.

A second meeting of the CLP will take place in the evening and the name of the chief minister is likely to be announced then.

The Congress has emerged as the single-largest party in Rajasthan, winning 99 seats, while the BJP got 73.

Bengaluru, Sep 26: The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting convened here to draw strategies for the coming elections to the Lok Sabha and legislative council in Karnataka witnessed party MLAs and MLCs venting their grievances against the state government.

Most of the MLAs complained that development works in their constituencies had come to a halt as no projects were getting approved, party insiders had told Tuesday.

Yashwantpur MLA S T Somashekhar was peeved that some of the mining projects were rejected on technical grounds, whereas some Janata Dal(Secular) (JD-S) leaders got the same contract without any hassle, they said.

His statement was seconded by almost all the MLAs.

"An MLA said he did not get permission by the local police station to install Ganesha statue at public places during the Ganesha festival," the sources said.

The MLA said it was becoming difficult for him to continue as a member of the House and he would prefer resigning from the Assembly.

There were also heated exchange of words between Congress MLAs Bhima Naik and Anand Singh from Ballari over their dominance in the district and interference by each other in their respective Assembly constituencies.

Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah and deputy chief minister G Parameshwara assured the MLAs that they would coordinate with the government in a better way to iron out the differences.

Siddaramaiah also cautioned the MLAs against "Operation Kamal" of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to poach on the Congress MLAs. He even took to task some MLAs for leaking information to media.

Later talking to, Parameshwara said the meeting was convened to discuss the legislative council election.

"The MLAs have the grouse that whatever promises they had made to their electorate before elections were not being fulfilled. Their grouse is valid. We will look into it," he said.
