New Delhi, Mar 13: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Keriwal on Tuesday held an all-party meeting here
to find a solution to the issues raised during the ongoing sealing drive in the
national capital.
Apart from senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders including
Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Gopal Rai, the meeting was also attended by
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief Ajay Maken and his party
colleague Arvinder Singh Lovely.
However, leaders from the BJP did not attend the meeting.
Earlier in the day, Mr Maken expressed hope that the Government would find a solution to the issue which has affected traders across the city.
“Subhash Chopra (Ex PCC President & Speaker Delhi Assembly) and Arvinder Lovely to accompany me in a 3-member delegation for all-party meeting on sealing going with a set of solutions, based on our experience, having successfully dealt with the issue in 2006-07. Hope the Government listens,” Mr Maken tweeted.
On March 11, the Chief Minister had written to Delhi Congress and BJP chiefs respectively, inviting them to attend the all-party meeting.
Mr Kejriwal also threatened that he would go on a hunger strike if the sealing did not stop by March 31.
Notably, a ‘bandh’ is being observed on Tuesday by the traders in the national capital in protest against the sealing drive.
The Municipal Corporations have undertaken the sealing drive following directions of the Supreme Court appointed committee last year. UNI
