DOORU, SEPTEMBER 29: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today conducted an extensive tour of Dooru Constituency to inspect progress of various ongoing developmental works there.
 The Minister accompanied by senior officers of concerned Departments visited Kapran, Chougund, Checkiwangni, Halsidar, Lower Manda, Rangimundoo and Verinag area of the Constituency.
Andrabi took stock of macadamization works in Dooru Constituency and asked the concerned to speed up the pace of works and complete them before the coming winter season.
He asked the concerned to work in synergy and redouble their efforts and complete all ongoing developmental works under various sectors within the stipulated time frame. He also asked them to use the earmarked funds for the current fiscal in full and judiciously. He directed engineers to ensure the quality of work is not compromised with.
Interacting with the people at different places, the Minister said that the Government headed by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed to provide basic amenities to the people of all the three regions of the State.  He said gigantic developmental programmes have been launched by the Government in the State with an aim to improve the living standard of the people especially living in far-flung and remote areas. 
Referring to former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syeed’s vision towards the development, prosperity and peace of the State, Andrabi said that the present dispensation is pushing forward the agenda of the legendary leader.
During the day-long tour, several deputations met the Minister and apprised him about various issues like issuance of timber on concessional rates, replacement of damaged electric poles, construction of lanes, drains, culverts and foot bridges, up-gradation of Government educational institutions and sanctioning of IAY cases.

The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured that their genuine demands will be looked into for their immediate redressal.

ANANTNAG, JUNE 21- Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Power, Industries and Commerce, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today visited Dooru Constituency and assessed damage caused due to cloud burst on yesterday evening.
The Minister affected areas including Dudgagan and Qamar villages and took stock of the damage to the property and crops.
Various officials of District Administration Anantnag including Additional District Development Commissioner accompanied the Minister.
On the occasion, the Minister was apprised that 13 water supply schemes were damaged besides power supply was also interrupted in the area. The Minister directed the PHE authorities to ensure immediate restoration of drinking water supply in the area. He also ordered for immediate clearance of debris in these areas.
Syed Andrabi also directed the PHE Department to start construction work on protection bund on both the sides of Dudgagan Nallah immediately. He also asked them for widening of the Nallah. He also asked the Public Works Department to raise bund on both sides at approach road near Dudgagan Bridge.
The Minister called for close coordination between officials of PDD, PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control and R&B Departments to ensure timely completion of all developmental projects.
 The Minister also asked the Power Development Department for immediate restoration of power supply to the affected area.
Taking stock of electricity supply in the area, the Minister directed the concerned to speed up the pace of work on installation of poles at Sheikhpora and Thaman villages and ensure their timely completion.
Later, the Minister held a meeting with the Officers at Veerinag and reviewed overall development scenario of Dooru Constituency.
The Minister directed the Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies Department to ensure essential commodities like rice, sugar and atta to the consumers of the Constituency well in time. He also asked the concerned departments to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace of work on all ongoing development works in the Constituency.

The Minister directed the revenue department to depute a team of officers on the spot for assessment of losses and submit a detailed report in this regard to the Government for further necessary action.

Reviews pace of developmental activities, Ramadan arrangements
ANANTNAG, JUNE 10: Minister of State Haj & Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today chaired a meeting at Town Hall Dooru to review the pace of works on various developmental projects in the area and also inspected arrangements made for the current month of Ramadan. 
The Minister directed all the officers of PDD, PHE, Food, Health and other essential services departments to keep better facilities for the people during the current month of Ramadan.
The Minister was informed that Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department has already stocked 2000 Qtls of rice in Dooru and 2700 Qtls of rice in Verinag circle out of which the major portion has been disturbed among the people. It was also revealed that the Social Welfare department has provided marriage assistance in favour of 48 beneficiaries and sanctioned 127 cases for which the assistance will be provided during this year. Similarly, under ASRA Scheme, 653 cases have been sanctioned in the constituency.
          The Xen R&B informed the meeting that two bridges at an estimated cost of Rs.12 Crores will be constructed for which tenders have already been received. In addition to it, a bridge at Rain Chowgund at an estimated cost of Rs.9.50 Cr. will be also constructed soon. He was also informed that macadamization work is under progress on Larkipora and other roads road.
          The Executive Officer (EO) town area committee Dooru and Verinag informed the Minister that out of 547 street lights, 505 lights have been made functional. The market checking is being conducted on weekly basis and a fine of Rs.2000 has been recovered from the erring shopkeepers. The committee has also undertaken a special cleaning drive of mosques and shrines.
          The Minister stressed upon the officers and Engineers to fulfill their responsibilities in providing basic needs to the people. He also appealed the public to strive for maintaining peace so that developmental process is expedited which was badly affected during last year.

The meeting was attended by CEO VDA, SDM Dooru, Tehsildar Dooru, Verinag, Exens of PHE, R&B, PMGSY, PDD and District Sector officers from Handicrafts, Handloom, NRLM, of Education, Health, Food and other concerned departments.
