BARAMULLA, JULY 20: Commissioner Secretary Power Development Department (PDD), Hirdesh Kumar today chaired a meeting to review the power scenario and the implementation of related schemes and programmes in the district that comes in the purview of Extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (EGSA) under centrally sponsored “Aspirational Districts" programme.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer PDD, Hashmat Ali, Chief Engineer System & Operation Muzaffar Ahmad Matoo, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bashir Ahmad Bhat, SEs, Executive Engineers, AEEs, JEs and other officers.
 On the occasion, Executive Engineer PDD division Baramulla briefed the chair about the status of implementation of various programmes including centrally sponsored SUBGHAYA and UJALA schemes. He said that under Subaghaya out of the target of 279 villages comprising 98954 households, 91714 have been covered thereby making a saturation of 46%. He also informed the Secretary about the initiatives taken by the department to cover the target with in stipulated time.
 Commissioner Secretary, speaking on the occasion stressed upon the concerned to provide uninterrupted power supply to the people during the schedule hours. He emphasized for developing power infrastructure so as to streamline its supply more especially in the coming winter season. Moreover, he directed the concerned to cover all the remaining households under both the Subaghaya and UJALA schemes besides setting deadlines for the same.

KUPWARA, JULY 07: A meeting of officers of District Kupwara under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir was held today in meeting hall of DC office to discuss measures taken for outcome oriented implementation of Mission Indradhanush under Extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan.
Meeting was attended by CMO, Dr. Prahlad Singh, Dy CMO, District Programme officer ICDS Mission, BMOs, CDPOs, field functionaries of health department and other concerned.
The meeting was informed that first round of immunization under Mission Indradhanush will commence from 16th July 2018 to cover children  aged 0 to 2 years and expecting mothers for immunization. 
The second round of immunization will begin from 3rd August 2018 and third round will take place from 10 September 2018 onwards. 
The Mission is a  part of EGSA Phase-II  which also includes  Cash Assistance of Rs 500 to patients suffering from Tuberculosis. 
All concerned departments committed that no stone will be left unturned in vaccinating all drop outs of the District under the Mission. 
DC  directed the CDPOs to work in synergy with other departments and mobilise  grass root functionaries including Aganwari workers and Ashas for the success of the mission. 
He further directed the officers to work in a coordinated manner to identify the obstructions in the immunization process, if any and find solutions to remove the bottlenecks to ensure that children are fully immunized
"There should be sincere involvement of all the concerned officials to avail this historic opportunity for ensuring a healthy future of our State", said DC Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir.

KUPWARA, JUNE 28: To observe large-scale IEC activities  and saturation of seven identified ongoing flagship schemes  in Block Langate, Under Secretary Finance Department, GOI, Vinesh Pachnanda, today visited nine targeted villages viz, Glura, Kultra, Puhrupath, Yunsu, Wahi Pora, Hari Pora, Marat Gam, Hangah and Lach of Block Langate, district Kupwara and took comprehensive review of various activities organised under EGSA.
He was accompanied by Nodal Officer Extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, (EGSA) Block Medical Officer Sogam, Dr. Firdous Ahmad, Liaison officer.
The visit witnessed overwhelming participation of people in all the seven villages. Locals were informed by the visiting team about benefits to be availed from flagship schemes including Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna, Saubaghya, Sahaji Bijli Har Ghar Yojna, Ujala Scheme, JanDhan Yojna, PM Jiwan Jyoti Bhima Yojna, PM Suraksha Bheema Yojna and Mission Indradhanush. 
The purpose of special intervention of the GOI's Nodal Officer is to ensure proper implementation of these schemes so that benefits accrue to the masses in general.
The concerned line Officers of these schemes also apprised the Nodal officer about detailed schedule of activities going on in full flow in these villages under RGSA.
Pachnanda emphasized that the real objective of the Abhiyan is to promote social Harmony, reach out to poor rural households, obtain feedback on ongoing programmes, encourage enrollment in new initiatives, enhance livelihood opportunities and reiterate national priorities such as cleanliness and strengthening the administrative set up at the District & Block level for the welfare of the citizens residing in rural areas of the district.
The GOI's Nodal Officer hailed the efforts of the District Administration for rolling out the Abhiyan in the respective Blocks of the district in a well-planned manner and appreciated the execution and outcomes. Further,  the Nodal Officer instructed that the concerned officers should exert their energy and efforts sincerely and continue the momentum with dedication to achieve 100% saturation under the 7 flagship schemes in the targeted villages by 15th of August, 2018.
"The Implementation of Abhiyaan in the targeted villages should bring fruitful outcomes", said Vinesh Pachnanda.
Public interaction programmes were also held in the identified villages at Sub- Health Centers and Government schools to get first-hand appraisal from the masses and to spread awareness about  EGSA to each and every household in the villages for making the Abhiyan a grand success.
