POONCH, SEPTEMBER 17: Deputy Commissioner Rahul Yadav (District Election Officer) today chaired a meeting of officers designated as Nodal Officers for different activities in the district for smooth conduct of Municipal Elections 2018.
 The meeting was attended by ADDC Abdul Hameed, ACR Mohammad B A Lone, CPO Shamoon Shakir, ACD Muktar Ahmed, CEO Municipality Gharu Ram, CDPO Jahangir Ahmed Khan, HQ Assistant/ Functional Manager DIC, AD Handloom Arshad Noomani Poonch besides other Nodal officers.
The DC took stock of the activities assigned to different Nodal officers. The activities include Plan of SVEEP activity, Law and order/ complaint redressal, Training Management, Material Management, Transport Plan, Media and Communication, Postal Ballots besides other activities of Municipal Elections. He instructed everyone to be very particular about their responsibilities.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner supervised 3rd phase of training of ROs and AROs for the upcoming Municipal Election.
During the training the ROs and AROs were sensitized about the process involved in the Municipal Election. It was informed that the date for filing Nomination form has been set from Sept 18 to Sept 25, Scrutiny will be held on September 26 and the date for withdrawal of nomination forms has been set as September 28. It was also informed that the ROs and AROs have to conduct two rounds of training for polling officers before September 28.
The DDC instructed the Election officials not to affiliate themselves with any prospective candidate and remain neutral while performing election duty. He stressed on to remain impartial not only in their conduct but also in their appearance.
The meeting was attended by Dy DEO Shashi Bala, AD Handloom Arshad Noomani, HQ Asstant/ FM DIC Waheed Ahmed, Master Trainer Principal Vijay Puri, ROs and AROs.

MAHORE, SEPTEMBER 11: Scores of children including adolescent girls besides women and villagers of this hilly Tehsil today watched live address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on PoshanAbhiyaan.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the field functionaries of ICDS/ Health Department in the DirectSamvad organized by Ministry of Women and Child Development/ Health Department, Government of India under.
In Mahore, the   CDPO   Anjum Ganai arranged the live telecast for the field staff of ICDS, villagers, Adolescent Girls, women, Students, and people from trade fraternity. The aim was to spread the message of the importance of optimum Nutrition, so as to make the message reach in every house hold of Mahore.
Later, speaking on the occasion, the CDPO said that malnutrition during the first two years leads to slow physical and mental growth of the child.
 “Since children are the assets/ future of any country, and as such we need to wage a war against this silent enemy (Malnutrition), with the pledge to make every house of Mahore Tehsil Malnutrition free, with the slogan Malnutrition-quit India” she told the villagers.
While highlighting the PoshanAbhiyaan, she said that Government has fixed targets to reduce stunting, anaemia (among young children, women and adolescent girls) and low birth weight by 2 per cent, 2 per cent, 3 per cent and 2 per cent per annum, respectively.
Later, an awareness rally on Poshan Abhiyan was taken out which passed through the main market of Mahore.

KULGAM, AUGUST 11: A full-fledged District Level Centre for Women (DLCW) will come up in Kulgam under centrally-sponsored Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) scheme soon.
This was disclosed by Mission Director MSK J&K Rifat Aarif while chairing a meeting with the officers of ICDS here.
Among others, District Programme Officer Sheikh Ghulam Hassan, State Resource Person for Women Sameena Mir, all CDPOs and Supervisors attended the meeting.
 It was said that the DLCW will come up in the district for which the land has been already identified.  It was hoped that the Centre will serve as a platform for skill upgradation, information dissemination and grievance redressal system for the womenfolk of the district.
The meeting was told that the DLCW will evolve into a multipurpose centre with a focus on facilitating women empowerment.
The centre on completion will house a common window clearance system through which the identified women entrepreneurs, SHGs will receive direct benefits under development and welfare schemes.
 Earlier, DPO highlighted the progress achieved so far regarding the launch of the project and assured to mobilize the staff for creating awareness about the scheme.

RAJOURI, AUGUST 07: A series of awareness programmes were organised in various Anganwari centres to mark Breast Feeding Week, a worldwide campaign aimed at promoting exclusive breastfeeding among mothers. 
The awareness programmes were supervised and guided by Project Officer ICDS Mohammad Rashid and Child Development Project Officer AuquilNuvaid. Teams comprising Nutrition & Health Mobilizer Priyanka Gupta and Supervisors Basharat Hussain Madiha Mir, Rukhsana Imtiaz, Azhra Begum, Tehseen Akhtar, Yasmeen Bukhari and others made aware lactating and pregnant women about health benefits of breastfeeding the newborn.
Awareness programmes were held at Palma, Loorkote, Dassal, Rajouri town, Fatehpur and Thudi, which witnessed active participation of Anganwari workers and helpers from all Anganwari centres of CDPO block Rajouri. Lactating and pregnant women were mobilised to these programmes and provided IEC material regarding benefits of breastfeeding. On 7th day of week a mega awareness programme was organised at Dhanore.
Nutrition and Health Mobiliser Priyanka Gupta, on the occasion, deliberated on breastfeeding and said it’s the foundation of lifelong good health for babies and mothers. She educated the women on initiation of breastfeeding, physiology of lactation, bonding between mother and baby and nutritional value of breast milk.
She added that breastfeeding is beneficial for infants, mothers and the community and has the potential to reduce mortality and morbidity during the infancy due to malnutrition.

KUPWARA, AUGUST, 01: Swachh Survekshan Grameen – 2018 for Kupwara district was formally inaugurated today by District Development Commissioner Khalid Jahangir at a function held here at DC Office Complex.
Among others, ACD Kupwara, Yaar Ali, CPO, Imtiyaz Ahmad, BMOs, BDOs, CDPOs, teachers, students of various educational institutions and other officials were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, DDC said that it is the responsibility of every stakeholder in our society to keep schools, health centres, marketplaces, religious places, tourist destination, roads and our surroundings clean for a healthy and disease-free life.
He emphasized upon all concerned departments to launch intense awareness campaigns for creating behavioural changes towards cleanliness among the masses. 
It is worth mentioning that the programme of Swachh Survekshan Grameen – 2018 will be held from August 1 to 30 to create awareness among the rural masses.
Under the SSG, districts will be ranked on the basis of direct observations in the public places like schools, Anganwadi centres, public health centres, haat-bazaars and religious places.

RAMBAN, JULY 31: District Development Commissioner Showkat Aijaz Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review preparations for the 'Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018’, a rural sanitation survey of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS) for national ranking of all states and districts of India on the basis of quantitative and qualitative sanitation (Swachhata) parameters.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Ravinder Sadhu, ACR, Vevaik Puri, ACD GH Kripak, DPO, Tariq Suhrawardy, CPO, Uttam Singh, AD Planning, Ganesh Kumar, CMO, CEO, besides other concerned.
The DDC constituted teams of officers comprising BDO, BMO, CDPO and ZEO for each block to successfully launch ‘Swachh Survekshan Grameen'.  He directed all the departments to ensure the sustainability of the efforts taken under SBM and impressed upon launching effective campaign through field functionaries of the concerned departments in Panchayats, educational and health institutions and Anganwari centres to aware masses about Survekshan and to facilitate surveying teams.
The District Panchayat Officer, Tariq Suhrawardy gave a detailed report on various aspects of Survekshan. He informed that the programme envisages detailed survey of Sanitation status of public places like schools, Anganwadis, bazaars etc. at district-level. Survey of public places, citizens' perspective of cleanliness, their recommendations and data from Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the criteria of survey.

KUPWARA, JULY 07: District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today convened a meeting to discuss the issues related to rationalization of polling stations, change of location of polling stations and summary revision of photo electoral rolls. 
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara Pir Muzaffar, Electoral Registration Officers, SDM Lolab, SDM Karnah, Tehsildars, and Assistant Electoral Registration officers attended the meeting.  
On the occasion, DC directed the concerned that the detailed report of rationalization of polling stations, change of location of polling stations and disposal of claims and objections on ERO-NET should be submitted within next two days.
He also directed the concerned to focus on summary revision of electoral rolls as ECI has set the revision date of September 01 2018. He also directed the concerned that physical verification of polling stations be also done.
He further directed that BLOs should be mobilized to enrol all the left-out voters and maintain a close contact with CDPOs, Numberdars and senior citizens for enrollment of the eligible voters.

KUPWARA, JULY 07: A meeting of officers of District Kupwara under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir was held today in meeting hall of DC office to discuss measures taken for outcome oriented implementation of Mission Indradhanush under Extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan.
Meeting was attended by CMO, Dr. Prahlad Singh, Dy CMO, District Programme officer ICDS Mission, BMOs, CDPOs, field functionaries of health department and other concerned.
The meeting was informed that first round of immunization under Mission Indradhanush will commence from 16th July 2018 to cover children  aged 0 to 2 years and expecting mothers for immunization. 
The second round of immunization will begin from 3rd August 2018 and third round will take place from 10 September 2018 onwards. 
The Mission is a  part of EGSA Phase-II  which also includes  Cash Assistance of Rs 500 to patients suffering from Tuberculosis. 
All concerned departments committed that no stone will be left unturned in vaccinating all drop outs of the District under the Mission. 
DC  directed the CDPOs to work in synergy with other departments and mobilise  grass root functionaries including Aganwari workers and Ashas for the success of the mission. 
He further directed the officers to work in a coordinated manner to identify the obstructions in the immunization process, if any and find solutions to remove the bottlenecks to ensure that children are fully immunized
"There should be sincere involvement of all the concerned officials to avail this historic opportunity for ensuring a healthy future of our State", said DC Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir.

JAMMU, JULY 04: The office of District Project Officer ICDS Udhampur has urged its officials and the public to take human rights pledge being promoted online by National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India
In a handout, the DPO office has asked the CDPOs, AWWs, AWHs, officials/ officers of ICDS sector Udhampur and general public to take the “Online Human Rights Pledge”, so that they may make human rights the cornerstone in the discharge of all their duties.
It is stated that the National Human Rights Commission, India, in collaboration with India’s National Informatics Centre(NIC) recently launched an “Online Human Rights  Pledge’ which is available at the following link- https://pledge.mygov.in/nhrc/ for all concerned citizens and civil society and government organizations to sign.
Interested individual/organizations can take the “online Pledge’ using the series of steps.
Pledge taker(individual or organization) can take Pledge online by entering her/his details such as name, gender, aadhar no, date of birth, pin code, state, district, email, mobile no etc in the Entry form.

BHADERWAH, JUNE 20: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doda (holding  additional charge of ADC Bhaderwah), Pawan Kumar today convened a meeting to discuss the modalities for providing benefits of various government schemes under single window programme (EK-Bari) to the eligible beneficiaries here.
The programme has been started in Bhaderwah on the directions of Chief Justice of J&K High Court who directed the PLVs to visit far-flung areas in order to identify the people who could be entitled the benefits under various government schemes.
The ADC directed the PLVs to conduct the tours of far-flung areas to take the benefit of government welfare schemes to the grassroots level.
During the meeting, the officers of concerned departments briefed ADC about various schemes under implementation by their department and the progress being made by them in this field till date to  provide benefits to the  identified beneficiaries under such schemes.
The meeting was attended by Secretary District Legal Services, Muddasir Farooq, Munsif Session Court Bhaderwah, SDPO Tousif Ahmed, BMO Yudhvir Singh, BDO Dr. Mohd Ashraf, AEE PHE Ashok Kumar, ZEPO  Shaheena Qazi, CDPO Nasreena Begum and other officers besides Tehsildar Masood Ahmed and Naib Tehsildar of all Niabats.

SAMBA, JUNE 02: Samba ICDS in collaboration with UIDAI today conducted Aadhaar enrolment camp for children below 5 yrs here at Conference hall of Deputy Commissioner Office.
First   enrolment camp for Aadhaar generation was inaugurated by District Programme Officer, ICDS,  Jyoti  Salathia.
Vishav Khajuria, UIDAI, CDPOs of Vijaypur,   Samba, Purmandal,   Ghagwal, Supervisors and Anganwadi workers   trained by UIDAI to generate Aadhar, participated in the camp. A large number of parents along with their children below 5 yr attended the camp.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Aadhar cards of children below 5yrs shall be generated at Anganwadi centres.
Proof of relationship (Birth certificate of child and Aadhaar card of either of parents) is the requisite document necessary for Aadhaar card generation.

RAJOURI, MAY 25: District Administration Rajouri today convened a meeting of citizen council to take stock of the issues and demands of the public in sub-division Kalakote.
The meeting witnessed participation of members of citizen council, Ex-sarpanches, civil society members, Numberdars and Chowkidars and chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Khalid Hussain and attended by ExEn PHE Division Nowshera, Tehsildar, BDO, CDPO, TSWO, TSO, ZEO, Range Forest Officer, SHO and other officers from concerned line departments.  
The members projected the problem ofshortage of potable drinking water, power curtailment during the month of Ramadan, non-Payment of wages under MGNREGA, lack of adequate transport facilities, forest fires, staff shortage in schools and health institutes and other issues of public importance. 
Some of the issues were resolved on the spot by the concerned officers, while specific directions were issued to the concerned by the ADC for resolving remaining issues in a time bound manner.
Interacting with participants, the ADC said the administration at district and sub-divisional level is committed to service of the public in a transparent and accountable way.

Reviews implementation of social security schemes in the district
KUPWARA, MAY 22: District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today convened a meeting under the Aspirational Districts programme to review the implementation of social security schemes in the district.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Chief Medical officer, Social Welfare Officer, District Lead Bank Manager, District Mass Education Information Officer, BMOs, CDPOs, BDOs and other concerned.
The DC instructed the concerned officers to enhance their efforts for time-bound and successful achievement of targets under various social security schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana, in the district.
He instructed for coordination and cooperation between the concerned departments for achieving true financial inclusion and empowerment of people in the district. He instructed for constituting a group with an officer designated as nodal officer to monitor all efforts made in this regard.
The DC said that as an aspirational district with dynamic nature of indices Kupwara should achieve all targets as set under the programme and thereby lead to better standards of living for its people.
The Aspirational Districts programme launched by the Prime Minister in January this year involves convergence (of central and state schemes), collaboration (of central, state level ‘Prabhari’ officers and district collectors) and competition among districts driven by a mass movement. It aims to quickly and effectively transform districts.

          RAJOURI, MAY 31: In a surprise inspection of various offices in Sunderbani and Nowshera sub-divisions, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mumtaz Ali inspected around 20 offices in twin sub-divisions of Nowshera.
          The inspection was as a part of drive for ensuring punctuality in Government offices. During the drive 10 officers/officials were found absent against whom action has been initiated as per Civil Services Rules.
          At Sunderbani Treasury Officer, Tehsildar Supply Officer, Range Forest Officer, Project Officer ICDS, and Tehsildar Beripattan were found absent.

          Accordingly, salary of 10 officials has been withheld which include Tehsildar Beripattan, CDPO Sunderbani, ICDS SA and Supervisor, Treasury Officer Sunderbani, Naib Tehsildar Beripattan and two lower rung employees.
