KATHUA, APRIL 24: On second day of the 29th National Road Safety
Week, Motor Vehicle Department organized nukkadnatak and eye checkup cum
medical camp for drivers and conductors at main Bus Stand Kathua.
A team of artists played a nukkadnatak on drunken
driving, over speeding followed by a musical programme. The large gathering
witnessed the function and applauded the performance and initiatives taken by
Motor Vehicle Department Kathua to spread the road safety message.
An eye check-up cum medical camp was also organized
where team of doctors from health department executed free eye check-up of
drivers and conductors besides free medicines were also gave away by the team.
During the programme MVD inspector threw light on
traffic signs and symbols, precautions to be taken on railway crossings,
importance of wearing helmet and seat belt while driving two wheelers and four
wheelers respectively.
While speaking on the occasion ARTO Kathua Indu
Jamwal gave brief note on common mistakes done by drivers leading to accidents.
She appealed the participants to drive vehicle only after getting proper
training from approved driving institutes. She also appealed parents not to
give vehicles to their underage wards as this is illegal and highly unsafe.
