Conduct debates, develop communication skills of students: Ansari
SRINAGAR,
MAY 26: Minister for Higher Education, Technical Education and Information
Technology, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari today paid a surprise visit to Government
Women College, MA Road, Srinagar.
The purpose of the visit was to interact with the students and know the
ground realities and problems, if any, being faced by them. The Principal
of the college, Prof Shaheen Altaf appraised him about the functioning of the
college.
The students during their interaction with the Minister raised various
issues. The Minister directed the Principal to resolve them at the earliest. He
also assured the students that their issues regarding accommodation,
cleanliness, sanitation and water supply would be taken up by the concerned
departments.
The Minister was told that the buildings of administrative block and
some academic departments need to be refurbished to which Minister assured all
possible help.
As part of extra-curricular activities the Minister directed the college
authorities to conduct debates on latest issues for development of general
knowledge and communication skills among students. He said that the future
prospect of a student increases manifold with better communication skills and
focus needs to be given on enhancing this capability.
