New Delhi, Jan 23: Paying tributes to freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 121st birth anniversary, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said the late freedom fighter inspires the countrymen even today.
In a tweet, Mr Gandhi said, 'On his jayanti, we remember Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a patriot, who inspires each of us even today.' 
Mr Gandhi also quoted a verse from the immortal Indian National Army(INA) marching song, which he said, was as relevant today as it was then. 
The verse reads 'Qadam qadam badhaaye ja, khushee ke geet gaaye ja, ye zindagee hai qaum kee, too qaum pe lutaaye ja.(Move ahead step by step, sing songs of happiness. This life is for the country, you should sacrifice for it).' UNI


Baghdad, Jan 15: Some 26 people were killed and at least 90 wounded in two suicide bombings at the Iraqi capital's Tayaran Square on Monday.
“The double suicide bombing in central Baghdad has killed at least 26 and injured 90 others people,”
a health ministry spokesman told the official INA news agency.
Tayaran is a major intersection in eastern Baghdad between Sadr city and al-Jumariyah bridge over the Euphrates. The area around the square is usually crowded by labourers seeking work.
No group had claimed the responsibility. UNI 


Imphal, Nov 21: President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate North East Development Summit (NEDS) 2017 at 2 pm and Sangai tourism Festival at 4.30 pm . The Summit will be held at City convention and the Tourism festival at Hapta Kangjeibung.
Extraordinary security measures were taken up and security personnel cordoned off the two places . Since early morning a lots of air activities could be seen as helicopters hovered around the city as a security measure. Coordinating Committee a conglomerate of militant outfits of Manipur has called for boycott of the visit of the President and imposed a 14 hour general strike from 6 am to 8 pm today. Due to the strike all roads were completely deserted, inter and intra state passenger services cancelled. All educational institutes and business establishments were closed down. Most of the roads were completely deserted. The Cor Com said the boycott was called as Manipur was forcibly annexed on 15 Oct 1949 and Armed Forces Special Power Act imposed. The organization gave a long list of the massacres committed by troops, security personnel in Manipur. President Kovind will be leaving Imphal on Nov 22 after visiting INA War Memorial at Moirang tomorrow . The Summit will be attended by about 175 delegates. Commerce and Industries Minister Suresh Prabhu, Chief Ministers of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Director India Foundation, Ram Madhav, Vice-Chairman NITI Ayog Rajeev Kumar, Ministers and officials from NE states, Ambassadors, High Commissioners and officials from various countries including Malaysia, China, Japan, Sweden, Taiwan etc will be among the attendees.
