SRINAGAR,
JUNE 23: According to the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority
(LAWDA), the general public is requested not to undertake any construction in
the territorial jurisdiction of the LAWDA without seeking permission from the
competent authority.
It is also
impressed that no construction activity within 200 meters from lake, green belt
should come up and the violators shall be dealt with strictly under the law.
“Illegal
constructions, if undertaken, will be demolished by the authority.”
The enforcement
wing of LAWDA was also stressed to continue demolition drive against illegal
constructions.
SRINAGAR,
JUNE 23: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today
directed all Deputy Commissioners to strictly implement no-construction zone
order along the national highway within the limits as prescribed in the
relevant acts and government orders.
Div Com directed
the DCs of Valley districts and Leh and Kargil to implement the order in letter
and spirit.
They were directed
to personally look into the matter and immediately remove the illegal
constructions and encroachments, if any, adjacent to the national highway.
Besides, no
construction shall be allowed along the periphery of the National Highway (as
per the limits given in the different Acts) and strict action will be initiated
against the violators.
