UDHAMPUR, JULY 17: Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board today organized a workshop under National Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) scheme for Schedule Caste Schedule Tribe MSMEs, here at conference Hall, DC Office.
District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar inaugurated the workshop as the Chief Guest.
While appreciating the initiatives taken by J&K KVIB in uplifting downtrodden and underprivileged strata of the society, the DDC asked the participants to avail maximum benefits of these schemes. 
During the workshop, the participants were also informed about various ways of establishing MSME.
Financial Advisor, Mohammed Ashraf Iqbal, Dy. Chief Executive Officer, Pawan Gupta, Assistant Director KVIC, Anil Kumar, General Manager, District Industry Center, Suram Chand, District Officer KVIB Udhampur, Tilak Raj, Lead Bank Manager and officers of line departments were present on the occasion.
While giving PowerPoint presentation about NSSH scheme, the Financial Advisor said that the Government of India has formulated the Public Procurement Policy 2012, according to which 20% of total procurement of goods and services by Central Ministries, Departments and CPSEs shall be made from MSMEs and 4% of such procurement shall be from SC & ST owned MSMEs. He said that NSSH is an initiative of the Government of India to develop a supportive ecosystem to focus on the growth of SC-ST MSMEs.
The participants were also informed about PMEGP and SFURTI schemes being implemented by the department.
District Officer, KVIB, Tilak Raj gave a brief about the activities being carried out by the department in the district. He urged upon SC/ST community to come forward to avail the benefits of the schemes of the department.

Submits 6 KVIB proposals worth Rs 11.39 cr under SFURTI
NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 30: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today called on Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Giriraj Singh and discussed the proposed development projects for J&K.
During the meeting, Ganga briefed the Union Minister about various development programmes and initiatives being taken up by the present Government in the state.
He submitted 6 proposals worth Rs. 1192.39 lakh prepared by J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board to the Union Minister for sanction under the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI).
Ganga urged upon the Union Minister for early release of second and final installment of central share of Rs. 1026.92 lakh under the Scheme MSE-CDP.
Ganga also raised with the Union Minister the issue of early sanctioning of ambitious Bee keeping Project for J&K costing Rs. 125.36 crore.
The Union Minister of State assured the state Minister that Centre would look into all issues projected by him pertaining to MSME and initiate necessary action regarding redressal of the same.

Formation of clusters under SFURTI

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 23: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, today inaugurated a day-long workshop on formation of clusters under the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) held at J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Jammu.
The workshop was organized to sensitize the artisans about the formation of clusters under the SFURTI scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that such clusters will provide sustained employment for traditional industry artisans and rural entrepreneurs by improving their capacity building and manufacturing skills through training and exposure visits.
He said it will also facilitate increased production of traditional merchandise and help in the economic betterment of the involved artisans, adding that these clusters will also include Common Facility Centres (CFCs) and Raw Materials Banks (RMBs) for artisans.
Ganga also said that an amount of Rs. 4.00 crore has been sanctioned for each of the five clusters established at different regions.
 Speaking in reference to the SFURTI scheme, the CEO KVIB said the objectives of the cluster is to organize the traditional industries and artisans into a cluster so as to make them competitive, provide support for their long-term sustainability and enhance marketability of such the cluster by providing support for new products, design intervention, improved packaging and also improvements in marketing infrastructures.
CEO KVIB, Directors KVIB, Director Industries (Jammu), Assistant Director KVIC, Director RSETI and other concerned senior officers were also present on the occasion.

Later, the I&C Minister visited Samba, where he laid foundation of office of Association of Industries (Regd.). He was accompanied by Chairman Vinod Rishi, President Vijay Agarwal and Secretary Ritesh Mahajan among other association members.

ANANTNAG, AUGUST 30: J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Anantnag organised an awareness camp under Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) for the development of the artisans and stakeholders associated with Martand Chain Stitch and Embroidery Cluster Anantnag at Rainipora today.
The artisans were made aware regarding various State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes and programmes. They were imparted training on how to convert the traditional handicrafts into the modern business generating units.
Artisans raised various questions regarding the problems faced by them during the process of establishment of their business units. Experts from KVIB, District Industries Centre Anantnag, and J&K Bank Rainipora explained the scope of different schemes and programmes to them.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary KVIB said that the Government is very keen to make traditional and cottage industries more competitive and customer friendly so that sustainable development of these industries is ensured. He added that Common Facility Centre under construction at Rainipopra Anantnag with an estimated cost of Rs 4 crore is going to revolutionise the handicraft industry of the entire district as it will provide them with the space for doing different activities related to handicrafts there.
He said that KVIB will provide all sort of facilities ranging from awareness, training and marketing to the artisans. He said that progressive artisans from various parts of the district will be given the opportunity to participate in national and international trade so that the artisan and buyer will come face to face, which will help the artisans to get the satisfactory rates of their products.
Secretary KVIB further said that e–Marketing is the need of the hour and KVIB is working on it. He added that proper publicity is a must for the promotion of the handicrafts so that it reaches to each and every part of the world.
The artisans including a good number of qualified women hailed this step of the KVIB and hoped that such programmes will be organised in future too.

Among others, Deputy Chief Executive Officer KVIB Kashmir, Functional Manager DIC Anantnag, Faculty Craft Development Institute Srinagar, J&K Bank Manager and Executive Officer KVIB Anantnag attended the function.
