Rajouri, July 04  :   District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today asked the concerned departments to start preparations for smooth conduct of annual Budha Amarnath Yatra-2019.

Chairing a joint meeting of officers and representatives of religious organisations, the DDC discussed in detail the requirements and issues to be addressed for smooth conduct of the Yatra.

The meeting, among others, was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nowshera, Sukh Dev Singh Samayal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police, Liaquat Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf, Chief Agriculture Officer Janak Raj, Tehsildar Rajouri, Sheraz Chouhan, ARTO Rajouri, Inzar Rana, XENs PHE, PWD.

A threadbare discussion was held on the issues raised by the representatives of religious organisations like provision of drinking water, Medicare, power and cleanliness at the Yatra base camps in Sunderbani and Rajouri.

Stress was laid on the foolproof security, installation of CCTV cameras and provision of medical camps at the base camps (Yatra grounds).

The DDC issued directions for making available adequate supply of drinking water. The Municipal Committee was asked to take up measures to ensure cleanliness and make provisions for temporary toilet facilities at the base camps. It was decided that PWD Department will construct temporary sheds for langer and storage of ration at the designated places.

As thousands of Yatris are expected to visit Budha Amarnath Shrine from across the State, the DDC directed AD Handicraft, AD Handloom Rajouri to put up stalls to promote the local craft. The DDC also asked the Agriculture department to put up a stall of local agriculture products.

 RAJOURI, JUNE 20: District Administration, Rajouri organized a public grievance redressal and awareness camp on Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Public Service Guarantee Act and Right to Information Act at Thanamandi here today. 
          District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, AC Defense Abdul Qayoom, SDM Thanamandi Afzal Mirza, CMO Dr Suresh, DSWO Dr Abdul Khabir, Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD, PMGSY, Mechanical, EM&RE, besides district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
          Departmental resource persons and district officers presented details of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and welfare schemes launched by State Government which included NOAPS, Widow Pension, Aasra, MIDH, NFBS, PMKSY, SBM, MGNREGA, JKEDI and a number of other schemes related to farming sectors like horticulture, agriculture, sericulture, fisheries, animal and sheep husbandry. Departments also presented a detailed resume of achievements under various schemes in the district.
          The DDC asked the concerned to formulate village and panchayat wise development plans under various sectors and stressed on convergence plan to promote horticulture in the region. He stressed on mass movement and concerted efforts for promoting education in the area, adding that education and awareness will lead to actual empowerment of masses. He thanked the people for overwhelming response to camps organised for providing services covered under PSGA and informed that such a series of camps will continue in July as well. So far, more than 5500 certificates have been issued in ongoing 112 camps notified for this month.       Speakers in the public meeting lauded the efforts of district administration for taking service delivery to doorsteps and launching a dedicated project for construction of 100 buildings for building-less schools which will be a great contribution to strengthening education sector in the district.

          Earlier, the DDC inspected Horticulture nursery at Nerojal and Govt Higher Secondary School Fatehpur. He asked the horticulture department for initiating steps to modernize Nerojal nursery. It was also decided that Rural Development Department will construct a culvert for nursery and track for Government Higher Secondary School Fatehpur for facilitating movement of students.

          RAJOURI, JUNE 19: District administration Rajouri has initiated a project for construction of buildings for 100 open-sky schools in the district functioning without building and often facing closure due to bad weather.     In an attempt to provide conducive atmosphere for education in remote and hilly areas 100 schools will constructed in 6 months under convergence of various schemes of different Government Departments.
DDC-headed DLCC to monitor weekly progress
          A District Level Coordination Committee headed by the DDC Rajouri, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and comprising officers from Departments of Education, Rural Development, Revenue, PHE and Panchayats have been constituted for weekly monitoring of construction progress.
          It was given out that SDMs would supervise construction which is being done through Rural Development Department. Education Department has sponsored 45-50% funding for the project while remaining funds are being provided under convergence of various schemes. These 100 schools will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 9 crore.
          The zone wise schools selected for construction of buildings include 3 in Rajnagar zone, 10 in Thanamandi, 4 in Kalakote, 20 in Koteranka, 5 in Moughla, 3 in Doongi, 14 in Darhal, 03 in Dandesar, 09 in Manjakote, 01 in Nowshera, 1 in Lower Hathal, 9 in Peeri, 9 in Baljarallan and 9 in Khwas zone. These schools have a total enrolment of over 3181 during the current year and the enrollment is expected to increase after the construction of buildings.
          An independent inter-departmental engineering team will inspect schools for Quality and Assurances.

          The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development, CEO, SDMs of Koteranka, Thanamandi, Kalakote, Nowshera and Sunderbani, Executive Engineers of REW, Tehsildars, BDOs, AEEs, ZEOs, ZEPOs, AEs and other concerned.
