Narsinghpur, MP, Jan 12: Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Union minister Yashwant Sinha today descended on streets and took out a rally with farmers in support of their demands in Madhya Pradesh's Narsinghpur district. 
Mr Sinha gheraoed the Collectorate building along with peasants and submitted a memorandum – addressed to the Governor – to Collector Abhay Verma. The agitating farmers told the Collector that an intense protest would be launched if their demands were not met in 15 days.
Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangh President Shivkumar Sharma was present during the agitation, carried out under the banner of the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti.
In the memorandum, the peasants demanded employment for agriculturists whose land was acquired for the National Thermal Power Corporation. Besides, payment for sugarcane be made to peasants on the basis of recovery. UNI
