PULWAMA, APRIL 24: District
Information Centre, Pulwama in collaboration with Block Development Office
organized a debate session here to mark the National Panchayati Raj Day.
District Development Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam
Mohammad Dar was the chief guest on the occasion.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Showkat
Ahmad Rather, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, District Information Officer,
BDO Pulwama, Officers from Rural Department and
a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said delved about
'Gram Swaraj' and said that the scheme is aimed at making rural local bodies
self-sustainable, financially stable and more efficient.
He said that Panchayats are effective ways to
fulfil aspirations of rural people and social transformation.
Earlier, different speakers highlighted the
importance of Panchayat Raj Institutions and good governance.
