Kohli for
expediting development works in Rajouri
RAJOURI, MAY 26: Minister for Food Civil Services
& Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Information, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, and
Minister of Sheep, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli, today
held a meeting to review the progress of core sectors under District Plan
2017-18 in Rajouri.

and Ravinder Raina besides District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal
Choudhary, ADDC A. S. Chib, SSP Atul Sharma, Director FCS &CA, R A Inqlabi
and other district and sectoral officers were present in the meeting.
On the occasion,
Zulfkar Ali said that transparency, accountability and corruption free administration
is the benchmark of present dispensation and added the various measures are
underway to provide better amenities to the people.
The Minister asked
the district administration to establish grievances redressal cells in the
district for effective implementation and monitoring of public delivery system.
He exhorted the
officers to ensure that work on all the developmental work is carried out
within the stipulated time and as per quality standards. He also stressed on
judicious use of development funds. He also directed road network executing
agencies to expedite the process of tendering so that various key projects
start well in time for their time-bound completion.
While reiterating
Government’s commitment of providing basic
facilities at the doorsteps of the people, Minister for Sheep, Animal Husbandry
and Fisheries Abdul Ghani Kohli said that officers must
conduct frequent field visits to ensure quality works and completion of
development works in set timeframes.
He said that various initiatives are afoot to improve road
connectivity in the district and said that surface connectivity holds key to
progress and overall development of any region.
The Minister also
directed PDD and PHE authorities to strictly adhere to
power supply schedule and avoid unscheduled curtailment, besides ensuring
adequate water supply so that people do not face any inconvenience during the
holy month of Ramadan.
Earlier, DDC
Rajouri presented a detailed review of physical and financial achievements of
various departments and the action taken on various decision of DDB.
The meeting was
informed that against the approved budget and availability of funds the works
are apace and the concerned departments are
pursuing the desired targets vigorously.
The meeting also discussed at length the status of macadamization of roads in the
district.
During the
meeting, the legislators highlighted various problems and
development issues of their respective constituencies
and sought their early redressal.
