MAY 25: District Development Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor
Ahmad Qadri, today chaired District Level Review cum Consultative Committee
meeting here to review the progress of banks
as on March 31, 2017 in the district.
Officers of allied
Departments, Financial Institutions and representatives of NABARD and RBI were
present in the meeting.
The DDC was briefed
about the achievements of banks under annual action plan up to ending March.
He was informed that
the banks have disbursed an amount of Rs 607.17 crore to 17584 beneficiaries up
to 4th quarter of financial year 2016-17, there by achieving the financial
target by 85.5 percent and fiscal target by 74.55 percent.
It was said that
under the KCC scheme various banks operating in the district have disbursed
43527 loan cases by the end of last fiscal.
Speaking
on the occasion, the DDC said that banks and
various financial institutions in the district must play their role for the
economic progress of the district. He stressed the officers to
maintain close coordination among the concerned and work with added zeal so
that the desired targets are achieved in full for realizing better economic
prospects.
